Uncle Snoop be trippin. Rather than the "Great White Hope", didn't he actually mean “The Greatest Non-Black Hope”?
It is much more appropriate coz Em happened to become the biggest spark that ignited the wildfire, that is rap, to sweep the rest of the world.
Some black people take their close shared connection with rap culture a bit too much for granted.
For people who never had their type of lifestyle and beliefs, which is the majority of the world,
Would they be able to relate to a genre of music that was initially so heavily focussed around their specific circumstances? definitely not.
Em became that bridge and his success promoted the idea that "You Don’t Have To Be Black or Even Rap About The Streets And Ghetto etc, To Become A Successful Rapper."
People don’t realise how massive and far-reaching, the butterfly effect of that single idea had been.
I’m sure it might have eventually evolved and spread regardless, but the fact is Em was the biggest trigger to that evolution and its already set in stone in our history.
I honestly find it odd that people seem to keep wanting to downplay Em’s impact and achievements. He’s not just the most successful rapper in history (based on sales) but amongst the top 40 of the most successful artists to have ever existed.
If I recall correctly, The beatles are the only artists that has more diamond certified albums than Eminem, precisely 6 while Em has 5.
When it comes to Singles, Em has the most, not just as a rapper but more than freakin EVERYONE!
Some like to keep bringing up that sales has nothing to do with cultural impact but that’s complete BS the moment it starts to hit millions. Moreso with someone like Em who’s at the very top of the world. Forget about a single hiphop/rap culture or even America, its more than enough to impact the entirety of the global music scene and the interconnected cultural trends.
It might be hard to swallow for some but every rap artist needs to realise that if it wasn’t for Em opening up a much wider global market for it, they might not have been earning even a fraction of the amount they are earning off their music now.
The country I grew up in, Eminem is as well known as Michael Jackson. Its no exaggeration to say that he singlehandedly put rap on the map as the popular genre we know today in many other countries across the globe.
No disrespect to Uncle Snoop but many of us might not have even heard of his name if it wasn’t for that “great white hope” he could do without.
Heck rap might not have even become half as big as it is now.
Is it any wonder? why he is miles ahead in these rankings over every other rapper that ever existed?
Infact, if we carefully think about it on a global scale, his contribution might be even more than the total sum of the rest.
We can talk about our opinions all we want, but the stats and numbers don't lie. Atleast its far more objective and closer to the truth than all of us, and that includes even the likes of Uncle Snoop.
Snoop dog ya old snake in the grass after boyz in the hood he's bank account is looking pretty dry he's doing menulog adds in Australia for cash yeah fking old snake pulling crap like this money what is money money will make a man act funny…. Em once again making another prediction on the future come true lol
Em ain't in my top 10 either ??♂️ way better artists that have aged better and remained more consistent even recently they just make better music. Purely being a good lyricist and a good song writer are not mutually exclusive and too many people don't understand that it's actually pretty irritated. Ak is like me me tho I make different lists, Em is pretty high on the top lyricist of all time lists absolutely, but even in that he isn't top in my top 3. People over hype Em at all levels
I group snoop in n.w.a, he's not great enough to be alone, even ice cube bigger.
top 5 :
Yellawolf
Eminem
Beastie Boys
Vanilla Ice
Wierd Al Yankovic
eminem top 3. end of conversation, couldn t even watch the video. the fuc em not beeing in anyone top 3 is a crime and blasphemie simultaneously
Is that AK or his bro that man he never say something good about eminem wow now he give eminem his flowers
Andre 3000? Nigga don’t even got more then one solo album
Eminem is booty I can’t relate to it
Yesssss
I love when people are critical of Em, the commeters be throwing your capes on quick ?♂️
Y'all have to understand that Em is very talented but alot of his content and his style is not appealing to the average traditional hip hop fan
Snoop isn't in Em's top 10 either. It's not a matter of disrespect. The pool of talent is simply too large.
They've also gone over time and time again how much they respect each other.
I don't see what the problem is.
I dont care lol im snoop dog to so ask me at least not that computer image lol
U know just weed so leave rap god alone
Snoop isn't even on my list
How Tech N9ne or Krizz Kaliko does make in a general top 10 idk..
wtf y'all buggin. In terms of impact ? Em put the rap scene on a global scale early 00's
This isn't about a stupid list. It's about Snoop/Royce downplaying Em's work, effort, and impact in the culture. https://youtu.be/bZ1dUUDTkFs
Why ppl making this bigger than it’s, Em doesn’t have to be in everybody’s top 10, it doesn’t mean his not great at it.
Snoop was right anybody who is old enough and knows about real hiphop starting from the late 70s 80s 90s should understand that that era was filled with mcs em is not in my top five or top 10 if you're not knowledgable about real hiphop I won't even acknowledge your top 5 or 10 saying em is the king and hes better than all of the legends before him is a slap in the face
Snoop dog ever rap anything ?
Redman Common and Styles P should be in the convo.
snoop doesn’t like white ppl anyone who follows him on social media knows tht
whys the audio so quiet
When using impact means, what the artist have done to change the game of the genre.
I've been into hip-hop, rap, since '82, (old head) and I do believe rappers are based off of skills. So whay is Akademics talking about.
Lol at this comment section. It's clear you all listen to hip-POP and not hip-hop. ??? Tech N9ne is the best there'll ever be.
Last time I took snoop serious was when he dropped “drop it like it’s hot”?♂️
I get it that snoop is entitled to his own top 10 just like everyone else. But than again, let snopp man up and say his top 10. Don't say eminem is not in ur top 10 and let's us to wonder who is snoops top 10. Let's bait snoop to drop his top 10
This is what the five people mentioned by Snoop Dogg had to say about Eminem:
"If Em was black, he'd be the next Muhammad Ali." – Rakim
"Eminem is the Kobe Bryant of Hip Hop." – Big Daddy Kane
"But Eminem is dope man that new record 'I must've killed them, killed them' the writing of that is brilliant…I'm never gonna say anything derogatory about Eminem 'cause I respect him. Eminem if you listening to me right now dog don't live up to none of that hype just do you. Focus on your rhyme-writing. Focus on your lyric delivery. That's it. Nothing else matters." – KRS One
"Em is my man and I love him. He’s also a friend of mine, so we’ll definitely get it poppin’. I just know that meeting Em and talking to him, he’s such a student of hip-hop. He knew all of my music. He called up the radio station singing ‘Go Cut Creator Go’ and that’s a song nobody knows until you’re a diehard LL aficionado. Every time I’ve met Em, he’s had a great spirit. We’ve hung out many times. When I got my [Hollywood] star, he did something cool for me — he bought me a cool ad in a mag. He’s always given me love. I respect and appreciate what he’s done in his career." – LL Cool J
"And thank God, you know. Lyrics still rule the day. No matter how commercialized hip-hop tries to get, or how commercialized people’s vision of hip-hop and b-boys and rappers are, lyrics still rule the day… [Eminem] always delivers, he always gives quality. He’s gonna be around for a long, long time because of that, because he’s a true b-boy. He ain’t no dude that’s just in it for the fringe benefits, he’s in it for the respect." – Ice Cube
Keep in mind, with the exception of LL Cool J who is a friend, most of them are just peers of Eminem, and even they weren't as disrespectful as Snoop Dogg (who claims to be Eminem's "brother"). However, this is the same person who betrayed Tupac and has been attempting to rewrite history ever since by painting himself as the victim and Tupac as the bad guy; is it any wonder Snoop Dogg stabbed Eminem in the back too?
"Eminem f*cked Jay Z awfully on ‘Renegade’. Completely! Like DAMN! I don’t want Eminem on my album. I’m cool." – Snoop Dogg

Go back to your JustEat commercials
White people get mad. When you don't add em.
Hey snoop only uh thing your doing is digging your grave saying shit about eminem you'll see all the hate comments and your sales drop soon
Some black people have been racist to Eminem.
Em is number 1 GOAT.
In terms of influence, 2Pac and Jay Z is placed above anyone.
That is the truth. People are just pretending.
If someone should be mad about not being in top tens it's snoop he's not in anyones! Lol
Damn, I really had no idea snoop is a hater
