Standards for being the GOAT get lower and lower shit is pitiful
Kendrick is definitely top 3
Better then gaypac??♂️
Em is the Legendary GOAT.
Is Kendrick really a better lyricist than 2Pac?? I personally agree but I wanna know what you guys think and I love 2Pacs music
Only thing that's keeping Kendrick from being the GOAT is his web of influence. Most of the rappers that have been big to make it in the last three years don't really resemble Kendrick's rapping ability, content, etc. He's got the discography and skills for sure though! He's definitely the best rapper of my generation.
My nephew knows and loves Kendrick… But what's scary is that he has a lot of tupac songs and knows every lyrics to those songs… He's 16…. So… Tupac is the greatest… Timeless music, enough said.
In 2020 I still think he is top 10. HE CHANGED THE GAME FOR GOOD.
Two variables:
Skill: I.e Tech 9ine
&
Transcendence: I.e Drake
Bad | Average | Good | Great | Top tier
To be the ‘greatest’ you’d have to be considered considerably well versed in both skill and transcendence; if your a transcendent rapper but your skill isn’t considered (atleast in some respect) up to par with the most skillful (I.e Drake) then you cannot be the greatest and if your a ‘skillful’ rapper but your music doesn’t transcend (atleast) relatively to the most transcendent then you also cannot be considered the greatest rapper of all time (I.e Rakim), whilst popularity can be biased it does show you what music is desired most and that should tell you something; if the audience don’t know who you are it can often mean they haven’t heard of you yet or have heard of you and you didn’t catch their ears for them to care to remember. It may also mean you cater to a very specific audience which is precisely not what ‘transcending’ means.
Both these things are skills that can be honed and those who are considered some of the ‘greatest’ as you will see if you look have both: for example the likes of Jay Z, Biggie, 2 Pac or Kendrick Lamar, it then becomes a question of “who between them is the greatest”. This is determined by ‘consistency, longevity and impact’; who has been doing this most consistently across their careers i.e bodies of work (and verses in general) and how impactful their music has been.
Lyricism, Flow, Content, Instrumentals, Structure, Delivery, Wordplay, Punchlines, Alliteration, Storytelling, Rhymes, Message, Compassion, Heart, Philosophy, Outspoken …
are things that determine a great rapper.
"He's a selfless rapper in a selfie generation" bars.
Who? Never heard of him
I understand why people don’t think Kendrick is top 5, but I seriously don’t understand why some people argue against Kendrick being top 10 or at least 15. I feel like most people who are so vehemently against Kendrick are just doing it to be different cause he’s “over-hyped garbage”
No particular order:
Redman
Jay Z
Nas
Eminem
Kendrick
If he came up in the 90s people would've barely heard of him cos of the abundance of better MCs.
Drake songs be in the moment but Kendrick songs will always be legendary and Kendrick is way better it’s not about how many hit the charts …
I feel like top 5 is
Tupac, Biggie, Em, Kendrick and Jay
Nas would be my 6th man
Honestly Eminem’s 4 albums run beats kendricks. As much as I love Kendrick, Eminem is just better
You put kendrick over Pac you guys or nuts
Listen to his black friday verse and tell me that isn't GOAT worthy.
This needs to be updated
One of the greats but surely not the GOAT
Drake is an artist Kenny is an MC at this point
Honestly how long can we ignore this kid's greatness?
Greatest Rapper Of All Time
Only Tupac Amaru Shakur
Kendrick is dope, but no way he's in a goat conversation. I can name at least 40 better rappers right know. Still in my top 50 tho, but on the last spots
You could never stack him up with the likes of a nas, biggie, or JAY-Z I know this may hurt your feelings but he’s just not a goat. Maybe he’s in the top 50 which he’d be in really good company there but biggie was lyrically the best from the moment he came out. Kendrick is no biggie.
The goat is between kendrick, pac and yeezy
You got MF doom, Eminem and jay z in your backround and you talking about drake in the goats list.??
Dislike
