Al fin puede entenderte. Siempre te sigo y tus progresiones son muy rápidas y los que recién nos iniciamos en esto nos cuesta. Reconozco tu gran capacidad. Desde ya muchas gracias
Wow muy bueno! sabroso ese ritmo
I am learning percussion and English with you, you explain very well and very calmly, you are sweet, a greeting from Argentina.
Great tutorial Michael!
Thanks….so nice..???
Excelente, tengo una duda este ritmo es para pop o funk? Gracias desde Colombia
Good guidance here on fitting conga playing with other elements and I really like your rhythm combination. I was wondering on whether this rhythm is based on 8ths or 16ths as on screen it looked like 16ths but the tumbao is generally using 8ths…?
thx, very clear and extremely useful
HI Michael, when practicing this I found actually the 1st bar can be played with continuous alternating (RLRL) sticking. Though I love the palm-finger movement but i still find it more efficient at fast tempos doing RLRL. What do you think on this approach?
Maestro desde Argentina. Un gran saludo. Podia ser algo en español ? Exelente tutorial.
Hello Michael. Do you have or would you make a tutorial on how to play danzón someday? Thank you so much. Your videos are always so helpful.
Thanks. More of this is welcome: other styles and other percussion instruments.
Great tutorial Michael. Any other thoughts on variations or ideas with other kinds of grooves?
Michael, this is such a valuable lesson — thank you! When you develop a pattern like this, do you then tend to vary it within the flow of the song? Or do you generally keep playing that pattern all the way through?
Para com essa frescura, vira homem rapaz !!!
Very nice!
This taught me so much, thank you!
I enjoy your videos so much. I would take private bongo /conga lessons from you or someone in Colorado. I live in Aspen, but could travel to Denver.
Very nice tumbal
Dear Michael, good morning. Please request, if you could make a video with pop music style or funk playing bongo. Thank you very much for your valuable teachings. Greetings from Ecuador!
This pattern sounds so nice!!! Work so well, let me tell you I created a pattern but shorter and always seems to miss something, thanks to you, now I know, a long phrase work so well, because makes so colorful the ensemble. Thanks thanks thanks
Michael — are your written transciptions collected anywhere ? GREAT WORK,
Mr. Michael, you are a true inspiration. Regards from Cyprus!!
Hi everybody !! what a good rhythm ,but i would like to know what is the name of the group who plays this pieces para poder practicar despues pura vida
Thank you Michael! Very nice groove. And its very good and useful trhat you write out the notes so you can learn it slowly part by part.A question:How can you play discorhytms on congas? Greetings from Matti in Sweden.
Thank you Michael! It seems a Little bit comlicated. But i can read notes pretty good so i try to learn it slowly part by part.

Micheal Sir, Thank U for the Video!
The Video is very relevant to what a Conga Player can do to fit into a Band playing Genre other than Latin Music.
This is the 2nd Video of such type. 1st one was shown by Johanna Haminga Madam about how to fit Conga on Disco Pattern.
We need more Tutorials on this. How to fit Congas in different Modern and Western Music, both Slow & Fast!
What a great mentor and warm heart towards music of all types. I follow your lessons on Afro-Cuban and have been venturing into Brazilian music — It is an inspiration having you there to lead me on. Obviously, this lesson is about a different type of music and worldview, but you still treat it with grace and seriousness, and the tidbits on the percussionist's job is a new insight giving me a handle on my challenge — no other site handles this. Thanks!
thank you!! master abrazos desde Bogota- Colombia
Great! Thank you!
Yeah! Good groove! ? Thank you Michaël.
Prima Michael, fantastisch! Heel goed. You are the best and one of the most versatile percussionists around. Your knowledge of so many different regional rhythms is just estounding and your ability to teach them is even more impressive–
je bent zo geduldig en precies. Keep rockin' the free world my friend. Good to see you are still active. Be well. Doei uit Amerika!
Thanks So Much
Great lesson!!?
very useful for funk jams! well done Michael as usual, thanks for posting
Excellent, thank you so much!
Sweet! Thanks Michael! Understanding HOW to find my place with a band is always a challenge. And you are right about all the different ways and instruments that a percussionist can play with a band. That's the reason I decided to learn and attempt to master becoming a percussionist. And any great band in history has always had a percussionist. Please continue to share your experience! Thanks again Michael!
Thanks michael. Sweet pattern & well explained as always. Keep up the great work. 🙂
