It's interesting how people will unfriend others that don't agree with their political point of view. I find it very disappointing because it's childish and cancerous to society. It creates a further divide in our country. I see brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends block off each other. It is very unhealthy for America. Our people are mediated by the Media, which shapes and conditions our mind to perceive what is right and wrong. Today, I can have a conversation with a person about a specific issue and determine which TV channel they watch based on their views. If you speak with a person giving a conservative point of view, you can determine that he is watching Bill O'Reilly. Speak to a very liberal perspective you can determine that the view came from a host on CNN. It's not the fact that these two channels represent left and right, it's the simple fact that our views are shaped by certain individuals within these mainstream media networks. What we fail to understand is that these so called journalist and reporters are themselves ACTORS. Their job is to deliver the news persuasively in a genuine fashion. The dilemma is that everything we are told and addressed comes with a degree of bias. We are led to believe that we formed our own opinion about these issues but in reality they were conditioned. The truth is that we are not allowed to form our own opinions because most of us are too afraid of the consequences and the backlash it may cause. Which is why ever since media has become a main component of our life, we tend to stick to popular belief on both ends of the spectrum. There is no middle, as they say if you are in the middle than you are the problem.
We treat people the same way our media treats their own interviewees. For example, when CNN Don Lemon interviewed Terry Crews, the interview was so gut wrenching especially when Terry was speaking and Don immediately cut him off and went on a rampant. If our so called "leaders" within the media network are mistreating their guests in such manner than we will never learn to understand one another. A view is a thought in reference to an issue or a problem, the thought can only be clarified or understood when both sides discuss these issues in a manner in a calm collective and respectful manner. Without such approach these issues will never go away.
Our news media, Fox News, CNN and others have been doing this for years. They have conditioned our minds consciously and sub consciously to treat others in the same manner as they do. They have conditioned our minds to comprehend issues based on their comprehension. This is why we have a country that is left or right because we gave these news networks and politicians way too much power.
When Pearl Harbor took place, the only people that told stories were the people that were actually there and saw it or felt it by being in close proximity. The rest of America could not relate to Pearl Harbor because they weren't there. The news was pretty much a news paper and short headlines. However, when JFK was assassinated by that time the media had taken over. The entire country felt this sudden shock because we were interconnected to JFK through the Media. The media made us feel like we were actually there and we were able to experience it. When Princess Diana passed away many people were left devastated, the news had such a grip on our emotions that we felt we were there and could relate.
We take the power of the media lightly but in reality the media controls and shapes your thoughts. I don't expect anyone to read this far but I hope that those that have read this message benefit from it in a positive way and learn to be more forgiven and understanding of their loved ones. I hope that more people are waking up to come to balanced terms rather than hateful walls that divide us from our families.
