I felt that Em had nothing to say on Revival. I listened to it once and forgot about it, but then he dropped kamikaze which I had on repeat for months! I think he listened to the criticism and it lit a fire within him. Em does his best work when he's motivated to prove himself.

Black Thought is a lyrical monster. The dude never got the respect he deserved.I don't see any praise coming from the newer generation though, but real hip-hop fans know that Black Thought is on the level of Rakim,Nas,Eminem etc. Definitely a top tier lyricist and a dope artist with a great catalogue of albums along with the roots.

the problems I have with the “GOATS” or even really relevant rappers is when they completely switch up their style… happens to almost all my fave rappers, they blow up and go through a period of being dope, then all of a sudden once they hit mainstream they drop and album and then I cant even recognize the rapper… this has happened to ASAP, kendrick, schoolboy, lil wayne etc etc
