50s album sales were always going to fall after get Rich or die trying. You can’t come out with the first album like that and Ever top it. If your first album is a hip-hop classic that goes diamond there is no way to top it so it’s always going to look like that you’re falling down but it’s kind of fucked up because you’re never going to top that that doesn’t mean your albums suck after words but you can never talk that. Snoop Dogg had to deal with the same thing. Doggy style was an instant classic and like get Rich or die trying it was one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year of its release. The other thing that was working against 50 was he was really the last big hip-hop artist that was going to sell an album that would eventually go diamond. Today platinum is the new diamond. By the time 50s third album came out the Internet had killed the music industry and no one was going to go past triple platinum anymore. This day the only artists that are going to go platinum or triple platinum they’re probably Kendrick Lamar or Eminem. We can’t really look at 50 and go well Curtis is a failure because it didn’t go diamond because no one was going to go diamond, He came out right before the music industry died so yes it’s going to look like his album sales were declining but his Fanbase really wasn’t declining they were just stealing the music for free instead of buying it

I usually root for the home team. Queens ain't my borough, but I got some friends and family there. And I usually support all NY artists. But aside from a few joints I never have been a big fan of 50. And all the beer just seems pathetic and made me not like him cause most of it was just too petty to find entertaining. He just seems like a self-loathing ass. But that mess with his son made me lose all respect for him. Not had anything to do with him or anything he does or puts out since. He needs to retire or grow up some. I'm embarrassed for him a lot of the time.
