The difference is blacks don’t have any bias against Latinos. I have had many racist incidents with Latinos. Afro Latinos don’t even identify as black and are offended being classified as such. New York everybody including white people say it. I’m from Texas where Mexicans say it all day. For this reason I no longer take offense when I do hear whites say it rather it be intended malice or not.

I’m Peruvian, my dad was darker than me I he had that Afro Peruvian look, I’ve said the word with my super close home boys. Both of my home boys are black and they have known me for years now. I always told myself if I use the word around black folks or in general, I have to be sure that everyone is cool with me even saying it. If the other black folk not comfortable me saying I don’t even say it all. I also follow this one rule of mine where if the other black folk is cool with me saying it, that’s fine but I would also need to be comfortable saying it around you as well. But if you ain’t comfortable at all in the first place, I don’t even say it all

I think that word is sacred to us, it's how we identify our brothers and sisters, it was a racist word and now we made it ours. Sure when a white person says it there will be discomfort, but honestly if they're not using it in a racist way, I couldn't care less.
