If you're on the verge of having a quarter life crisis or a really bad breakdown and you're afraid you have a lot to do – here's my story. I had 1 year before graduating med school. I've put so, so much into that as you can imagine and I've passed on so many other things because of that. Nevertheless, my old, suppressed trauma started kicking in right in that moment. It's stuff that I've always put to the side trying to go through school and then uni, always having ,,more important things to do''. I was breaking down, I felt the crisis coming in. I made a deal with myself to postpone that one last time so I can pass my exams and graduate after my year of working as a trainee. I did all of that and the very next day after that I broke down and fell into that deep hole. I've never felt this depressed. It's almost 6 months later and I'm still struggling, but I'm on the right path, I've finally seeked help. What I want to say with all of this is – it's okay to not do that thing you need to do because of a greater cause. Sometimes not doing that thing is what you have to do in order to get that diploma and reach that goal. It sure does feel like a betrayal, but it will always be okay and worth it in the end as long as you don't forget to make up for that and take care of yourself afterwards just as you've/should have/ promised yourself.
Stay strong! You can do it! You're almost there! It's always worth reaching a goal and overcoming your fears.
