There are different scenarios for snitching or not snitching on your own people. One not talked about that I've been through more than once is where you get caught for some shit and your people where there involved in it as much as you. The judge, cops, or lawyers offered me lighter punishments if I would give up my people. I was the only one caught/they had evidence against but everybody knew I wasn't the only one involved and through investigation they knew who else was likely there but couldn't prove it. In one instance the judge brought out one of my homies out that had since already been locked up for an unrelated crime and said he was there wasn't he? Y'all did this together, didn't you? If you tell the truth I'm going to be more lenient with your punishment. I told the judge I didn't know who the guy was and I couldn't remember anything from that day but getting arrested. lol He gave me the max penalty but each time I didn't snitch when I could have I did gain respect and credibility on the streets. That's not really worth a whole lot to be honest, but I do think it helped keep other thugs motherfuckers from fucking with me out of respect, you know? So, I didn't get tested or have licks planned on me when others who hadn't proved themselves did.
If I could go back in time I wouldn't have committed any crimes to begin with. There's no future in it and the money doesn't last long. I would have been better off working a 9-5 from jump.
