Who's listening to Pat Benatar in 2020? If you are, you've got great taste!!
She is the VERY, VERY best of the best female singers ever. Worldwide. An absolute LEGEND. I have to agree that We Belong is the perfect song, just amazing. Le Bel Age from Seven The Hard Way plus So Sincere & We Live For Love from her 1979 debut certainly deserve a mention here. But am I truly surprised no end that nothing from Wide Awake… made the top five, and such that 1988 LP doesn't even get a mention here. Too Long A Soldier, One Love (Song for the Lion), Don't Walk Away & who could forget ALL FIRED UP. Can I say, sorry to go and on, but '93's Gravity's Rainbow (her last album on Chrysalis) is noteworthy, not brilliant – but not bad either. Really enjoyed this video, thank you Professor.
Who was the SECOND video ever played on MTV?
I could give you 10 amazing songs off the top of my head. I also love the True Love lp.
Howdy – Being a "Rocker" in NYC late '70s, I remember the buzz that Pat, Neil along with a personal favorite drummer Myron Grombacher (who also played with Lita Ford) had in the band's formation for the 1st album. Myron's influence in the album "Wide Awake In Dreamland" makes it one of those albums I will always enjoy, the cover "All Fired Up" from that album makes it in my Top 5. Pat and "Spyder" have had quite a successful run, both musically and romantically. Take care and be safe.
Best time of my life… During the Governess's reign…. Met and was dating my hubby at that time. GREAT times!
Funny how the two biggest voices in rock both came from the same place DIO and PAT BENATAR . Fire and ice is my favorite song .
Love Neil Giraldo and Pat Benatar
Shes a legacy❤❤?
Can you please examine This Woman's vocals, Jinx Dawson
Greatest female singer you never heard of. Jinx is incredibly versatile
Powerful with the greatest distortion and range.
High notes C7 with power clarity 2:12 , 3:35

I was introduced to Pat by the same girl I wrote about in your Toto's Rossana video. She had 2 heroes, Janis and Pat. She mentioned so many times she wanted to be badass as Pat. I liked pat Benatar since. And of course that video was epic (love is a battlefield). I'd guess my top 5 are same as yours but would switch places between We belong and Shadows of the night.
And, in another note… UH!! Phoebe Cates!! Had such a huge crush on her!!!! Her and of course Alex (Jennifer Beals) from Flashdance.
Pat benatar is a legend no doubt. I love her . Her voice is amazing. She brings chills to me
I'm a product of the 70's raised in the 80's and tackled adulthood in the 90s. My mother managed a record store when I was a kid, and my father was an obsessed Drummer who worked during the day on the factory floor at Chrysler, and demolished the pigskins at night. He lulled me to sleep by playing "Wipe out" on the drums when I was just a baby. Music to me holds strong strong connections with memories of love and the struggles of youth. There are songs out there that just gut punch me with emotion sometimes. Your obvious love for music, and your relentless pursuit of as much knowledge as you can accumulate about the topics you cover is astounding to me personally. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do. I'm 100% a fan of the topics you cover, but even more so, I'm a fan of how you do what you do. Great content and again, thank you so much!
One of my favorite song from Pat was Fire and Ice …what a song
DONNA SUMMER DID IT FRST I THINK…AS ARENA'S GO AND THEATRICAL…
I love Pat Benatar's stuff. Shadows of the Night and Invincible are personal favourites.
shes awesome!
She is really underrated and she is amazing ??
I loved her then BUT dont think her music has weathered time
The picture was taken from her second album CRIMES OF PASSION my favorite album. 1. I WANT OUT
2. MY CLONE SLEEPS ALONE
3. TAKIN IT BACK
4. WE LIVE FOR LOVE
5. PRISONER OF LOVE
These songs were not hits but I love these songs. She is one of my three idols. The other two are Donna Summer and Deborah Harry.
What an awesome video keep it up, Professor
i didn't find anything profound in the love is a battlefield video. even the video looked like nobody knew what the song was supposed to be about. its a good tune, though.
I couldn't wittle a top 5 down past 6 (and in any order):
Heartbreaker
Hit Me with Your Best Shot
We Belong
Invincible
Sex as a Weapon
All Fired Up
My mom and I saw her big heartbreaker debut when she appeared on American Bandstand. We knew we were watching a mega star.
One of my all time favorites! Amazing talent….even today at 67! She always looked like the bad girl……but is actually very nice! My dad was a sheet metal worker, and my mom was an opera singer….I was a professional singer for 20 years…..but , my future wife had different ideas for our life….she was right! Lol, being a dad and husband has been the greatest accomplishments if my life…
I thought Pat Benatar was Canadian for some reason. Oh well, great video anyways. Cheers.
I love your channel prof. On these trying times this is such a breeze of fresh air. Keep up the great work !
I second that motion for Governess of Rock and Roll but warning there is a band called Governess but they will get over it lol great video man.
EDIT YOUR AD PLACEMENTS!!!!
