Credits will always have more than one person listed. The producer gets writing credit, the engineer, whoever the song was sampled from.
To me for Drake and Cardi b its just star power, havin the voice for it. Like dude said, you could write Denzel’s lines but people wanna see Denzel act it out. I don’t consider him on the level with Hov but for vocal inflection and being able to make a hit I salute that.

A rapper's main role is to spit mad bars. That is what they do and if they cheat around that then they don't deserve any recognition for raps. End of.

If you're trying to be the best, never use a ghost writer, no matter what.
But if you're JUST trying to make a hit (literally nothing else) then I think ghost writers should be allowed, but some stuff still has to be done by you.

It would be stupid not to say the Chronic is a classic album. It would also be stupid to say that Dre is in the top 10.

HIP HOP IS NOT R & B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE IS SUCH A THING AS AUTHENTICITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIP HOP ORIGINATED IN OFF THE HEAD BATTLES WHERE THERE WERE NO SO CALLED GHOST WRITERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I UNDERSTAND THE FACT THAT IT IS ULTIMATELY AN INDUSTRY AND A MONEY MAKING MACHINE!!!!!!!! HOWEVER, IF YOU DON'T WRITE YOUR LYRICS, YOU ARE NOT A RAPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE AN R & B ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do so many say JayZ freestyles every record w/out any writing? That's ridiculous. Yes, he has done that before & memorizes (photographic) his songs so can go into booth w/out notes sometimes. Silly to think he "purely freestyles" every song. He def pre-writes bars, that's a myth he wants other to believe. Like he was really a hard core drug dealer. Lol He stole his best friends "life story" & rapped it w/his swag. Does everyone forget how he tried to disrespect Biggie right after he died by rushing to self proclaim he's the King of NY? Then Nas had to shut down his "takeover" w/Ether. Ha It's easy to memorize when ur stealing them from others, like Biggie & Nas. Lol

I absolutely lose respect for rappers if they're being spoon fed lyrics. Performance is key, but it's an artist that performs their own work I want to see, not some product of a money-making industry

You can't take credits for some body's words been it as an emcees
Or as a poet some times we looks pass this things wen huge money is involve wen that particular person is getting paid
How can you take somebody's intelligence property or is own ideas to be your, even if he sold it to you, deep down you will not be feeling great about it your self, but because they are getting paid they keep quite as act as everything is fine, eg is like somebody wrote your exams for you en you got all A`s…… Really how will you wen that wrote it for is around en you bragging about you wrote it your self,….. ? ?

The talent in R&B is the voice
The talent in Rock is the voice or ability to play instruments.
The talent in gospel music is the voice or ability to play instruments.

The talent in rap music is the ability to write and perform those lyrics. Any decent poet can probably out write the best Emcees. But it takes a rapper to write and have the ability to recite those lyrics over a beat and blend them together to make a unique sound.

What tyreese is describing is POP music. You don’t have to be the writer of POP music, you just have the deliver it and there’s an entire team behind you making sure you do or say anything that POP culture likes at that time. That’s not hip hop and that’s not rap music. That’s literally the opposite of it.
