muffin song
Whenever I see Pinkish Purple
I always remember MTV Unplugged Alice in Chains
Rip rooster!
We need a bluray release.
My gosh. This song.. his voice is just perfect. Genius and Mesmerizing.
layne staley was one badass man
Jerry Cantrell wrote this about his father..a Vietnam war vet. From an interview with Jerry:
"He's heard this song. He's only seen us play once, and I played this song for him when we were in this club opening for Iggy Pop. I'll never forget it. He was standing in the back and he heard all the words and stuff. Of course, I was never in Vietnam and he won't talk about it, but when I wrote this it felt right…like these were things he might have felt or thought. And I remember when we played it he was back by the soundboard and I could see him. He was back there with his big gray Stetson and his cowboy boots — he's a total Oklahoma man — and at the end, he took his hat off and just held it in the air. And he was crying the whole time. This song means a lot to me. A lot."
I keep coming back and listening to these., yet I own the dvd.
Even at his worst, Layne had one of to most powerful vocals. Fuck, Rest in Peace.
Man poor Layne the darkness in he’s eyes. I wish I could’ve been their to talk to him.
A man wanted to die sings about a man doesn't want to die
If you don’t understand addiction… I’ll put it this way, you can be this guy (Layne Staley) and have all the Talent, all the fame all the “friends” all the money, etc and so on… And still be 6’ tall 86lbs and decomposing by the time someone finds you dead, all alone by yourself!
Now imagine for a second how an addiction can do that to someone like him… now imagine your friend or family member that has nothing or nobody. Yeah, Shits that real out there… never miss a moment to be “that person” that gives someone just that shred of hope that might just be the “it” that turns their life around!
Never enable… but please never give up on a fellow human being, especially someone you care about!
According to my father he was a Vietnam vet he explained that the roster Rooster' was also a nickname for M60 machine gunners because the muzzle flash looked like a rooster's tail. It's also a play on how the Vietnamese saw 101st Airborne Division soldiers who wore the Screaming Eagle on their sleeves.Mar 13, 2018
Love u
its sad to know that he was super nodding off right here recording to reports and you can kinda tell but i just really wish the drugs would not have taken him. i saw them live with korn in 2019 i just think it would have been better with layne.
Layne was so sick here, so sad.
Lyrics are the story of my life.
Bird is the word.
I like the little moment between Jerry and Mike. Don’t even know what it was about but I’m glad that they were happy.
What year was this?
I would love to see a picture of Layne Staley's decomposed corpse when they found him rotting for 2 weeks.
Te amo
if you look closely you can see that mtv edited out laynes top row of teeth…. or what was left of them
Heroin is a hell of a drug.
Layne will forever be a legend, his voice is that of an angel. Some of his words and songs and way he sings literally brings tears to my eyes. I know he would have been mad,but he needed help BAD. God i wish he was still around. RIP LAYNE
bretman rock
Immense talent from every member of this group. Amazing drummer…understated and powerful at the same time. Legacy band like no other. The needle damages so much. God bless AIC living and gone.
We didn't know what we had, apocryphal lyrics and epiphanies dedicated to our souls. MUSIC not advertisement. Lest we forget, we were the greatest generation….
I remember as a kid I would grow up listening to Alice In Chains MTV Unplugged with my dad
I love their music but it sounds like they don't care
It's sad to see Layne in this condition during this performance…he was clearly in the height of his addiction right here. Altho, he still had a great voice. Sad he couldn't kick that addiction.
“Friends don’t let friends get friends haircuts.” ??
watching that is actually sad…..the demise and downfall of one of the greatest
what i see is. pull me back, death .
boot camp
billie eilish
Layne looks like hes dearly missing the needle. So sad.
This man was an angel. RIP Lane.
Do caralho
Thank you to all our veterans
I owe everything to them
