What a wonderful documentary. I'd never heard of this genre before and it's rare that I get to see the face of music like here. This is exactly why I subscribed <3

I disagree with the part that afrobeats is only about love, sex, and money. Artists like Burna boy or lagbaja talked about political concerns or tell a story about their life growing up in their songs. There is much more to afrobeats than love, sex, and money. Loved the video tho

Afrobeats ending in "S" is not a unique Nigerian sound. Not to be confused with the AfrobeaT of Fela and the movement of the 70.s

This so late, us Londoners have been on afrobeats since the early 2000s Oliver Twist 1st tune that was a big tune. The artist was a Nigerian security guard from a supermarket.

Afrobeat is a sound from Ghana highlife music? ???????????????? Afrobeat is ????Ghana not Nigeria. Fela only came to Ghana to learn highlife music from Ghana. He is not the founder of Afrobeat. Afrobeat is Ghanaian music genre which was in Ghana since 1920. Nigerians was influence by Ghanaian Highlife music in 1970. ????????????????????

"While afrobeats takes on influences from afrobeat, it is a diverse fusion of various different genres such as British house music, hiplife, hip hop, dancehall, soca, Jùjú music, highlife, R&B, Ndombolo, Naija beats, Azonto, and Palm-wine music". The majority of afrobeats songs I've heard sounds like the beat of dancehall and soca that are Afro-Caribbean. I want to hear more african rhyhtms with pop/RnB/hip hop could someone may reply me examples of that? Pleaseeee

Low-key kinda sad they didn't form their own record label. The networking from universal would be nice, but I don't like the idea of that label in all those artists' pockets

Aftobeats is a general name for the new contemporary sounds coming out of African, with Nigerian sounds and artists being more popular. It’s a mixture of traditional African sounds with RnB, HipHop, auto tunes, 8o8 tracks and more. You have South African house, Angolan house, west African afrobeats, Kenyan and Ugandan Swahili Afro sounds, Ivory Coast/Congolese coupe Décalé mix sounds. Then you have London and French aftobeats sounds. I could go on!
