Really enjoyed this.. To put things in perspective during early 2000's Most producers were using hardware and weapons of choice were the korg triton, yamaha motif, roland fantom, and various sound modules . melodies were simplistic because a lot of the hip hop producers had sampling backgrounds and not musically trained, but they made it happen and made some bangers along the way.
