I say "hell yeah" hip hop would b without J's.. I am a ADDIDAS FANATIC 22YRS STRONG!! Jordan is undisputedly the best basketball player ever to toss the rock. But bcuz he hated on rap just seems wrong to be so prominent in the culture. I only like maybe to style of them but you never have a mom to care never felt the need.. I'll rock the old school rat balls or the Super Star ll's till I draw my last breath, and I want to be burried in a white n orange stripped valure track suit.. MnTL1er 520boyz

People also just buy jordans because its a trend. I never thought they looked that nice, but everyone else says i have no taste in shoes because they like these bland looking, ugly shoes

This isn't true , Jordan the King of basketball, which made is shoes follow way, regardless of what he said in reference to poor blacks , he basically ssying he's basically a businessman, strictly, he just wants the profits , he can't control the controversy & uncontrolled, infatuation over his shoes ,

Only a true idiot oxymoron in his 30’s & 40’s will pay $200 for a pair of sneakers that truly only cost $26-$32 to be made in China warehouse

If MJ really said FUCK RAP, then he should be ashamed of himself. Without hip hop the Jordan brand would not be what it is today. The biggest artists from LL COOL J, 2PAC and many more promote the brand for free and reach people world wide. Hip hop music definitely influenced me to buy Jordan's whether it was watching a music video or looking through the pages of the source. I buy Jordan's for style and fashion, I've never worn them for hoops because I didn't want to fuck them up. Long live HIP HOP.

100% Jordan got help at every turn, not just in selling his shoes, but also in winning his 6 rings. The NBA and Nike execs along with the officials had a marketing tool called the Phantom Foul which was used to stop the Knick's from winning their first championship and give the Bulls a 3 peat. Before you all assume I'm from NYC, Nope I'm from Chicago and I was also caught up in the Jordan hype then I grew up and must say I was fooled. Yes Jordan was a great player, but he had a stacked team for the era and for him to hate on GSW and Lebron proves he's a hater.

People aren't wearing jordans because they are fashionable, they are wearing them because they are some sort of status symbol. Same with north face. What I don't understand is Jordan wearers think they are cool when everyone is literally walking around with the same exact shoe.

I haven't bought a pair since high school, so ten years ago. Paying 2-300 bucks is just too much even though I can easily afford a pair here and there.

The very reasons why black people spend their money to buy Jordan shoe is to remind them that they are free from slavery these days where they don’t allowed to wear shoes.. that’s why there’s lot more of black people wearing Jordans and the other just got influenced by hiphop

So why was MJ on Letterman talking about the Jordan 1 being banned? I know he was wearing a different shoe and the Jordan 1 was inspired by that but I am confused. I mean I looked it up a few days ago, the shoe was banned October (forgive me if the day is slightly off) 14th 1984 and the release of the Jordan 1 was September 15 1985. I guess it makes sense. I mainly got confused bc the dunk contest was Feb 9 1985 and I thought maybe he wore them in a game prior.

You rock jordans if you grew up watching him or you were watching him when he was playing.

Everyone else wearing it after discovering who jordan is years after he had already retired are just a bunch of followers. Pretty lame. This youtuber speaks a lot of sense.

We wanted to be like Mike.. Not Will Smith lol. What I mean is, back then, people loved excellence and worshipped people of great talent. Now days the talentless are mostly famous and people follow them, especially in music. But back then, we wanted Js because of Jordan and not because of anyone else.
