SIa is obsessed with Maddie, its kind of weird. Sia can pick any well trained actor she wants, yet she picked a dancer, who she cast in 10 of her other videos without reason. On top of that, why couldn't Sia find another autistic actor after the first one failed, why did she need to go to Maddie? Sia and Maddie have a weird thing going on.

As I understand it, the few who have seen the film have apparently been pleased with the film and Maddie Ziegler's performance, so regarding her choice, I cannot assume that the film will be mocked or misrepresented as It has not yet been released, nor have I seen it. A lot of those who say she's acting bad haven't seen her in this movie either, so it's irrelevant.

Acting is an art and I don't think anyone because of their type of neurology should be excluded, nobody. I hope a good message from the film and that there are new and more opportunities for the entire autistic community, in all areas, not just the artistic.

So Karen's complain about an actress acting as an autistic person. This is nothing new alot of actors have portrayed disabled persons. I see nothing wrong here except a bunch of Karen's looking for something new to complain about.

So, the film was written 15 years ago with the help of an autistic friend of Sia, the story is based on that. 5 years ago they cast and Sia wanted an autistic person as the protagonist, she auditioned dozens of girls with that specific autism, however, some doctors, family members and girls refused after knowing when it would be stressful. There is much more behind this but it is too long. Sia and the producers had prepared to host them and put them at ease but it could cause serious trauma. So she decided to put her "almost daughter" Maddie as the protagonist, in the cast of the film there are 13 autistic people, plus many other minorities, including the LGBT community etc …Sia wanted to make the film to show people that autism isn't bad, it's something that can be wonderful, it's the story of two sisters, one of them addicted to drugs. That autistic girl is likely to get her sister out of the drug addiction. Sia is the director and had two autistic counselors by her side the whole time of filming. Sia after she finished filming and editing the film showed it to a room full of autistic persons and everyone said the film is fantastic and approved the interpretation. An autistic-led association called Maddie's performance flawless, a 100% accurate interpretation. There were rumors going around saying that Sia got help from Autism Speaks but it's a fake news, it has nothing to do with it. Her team just retweeted one of their tweets 4 years after filming ended. I explained to her that it was not good and she publicly apologized, she didn't know. I am autistic and I followed all the shooting, I am proud, if someone criticizes the film also criticizes the minorities who worked on it. Sia created the story based on love, she didn't want to offend anyone, she spent all her money to make this dream come true. It's a musical about love, it doesn't want to mock anyone. Sia is really a good person, but after 15 years of work it is not nice to be told that the film sucks, she had a nervous breakdown. She's good, she paid for us fans operations, she fed us sometimes. Like at Thanksgiving, she went to the supermarket and without saying who she was she paid for everyone's shopping. She has made music videos like "The Greatest" againts discrimination and to support bullying people and she has done many campaigns. She had no bad ideas and autistic people were both in the production and in the script and in the film itself. I found many comments spreading fake news or assuming what the movie was like. It's not for mockery, it's accurate and based on true story. Give her a chance and share if you want❤️

I wish people would giving backlash because a disabled person wasn't cast as a disabled person if they weren't cast in a specific role the prayer disabled person you would say oh that is totally unfair she only got that part because she's disabled or he is disabled why can't you let actors that can ask play This Part that's what they're called actors I speak as a disabled person myself people shouldn't be given parts because a small proportion of the community is upset about something they should get the part on their own merits

The way Sia handled this is is not good. I’m not watching it.

Why to choose actors to play FBI or CIA agent while their are many members to play it why not claiming for using actors to be firefighters while their are many of them .. why choose straight actors to play gay while their are many gays to play the role, why not choosing dead persons to play their characters instead of bringing alive ppl to play at their place ……. Etc
You're just hating for nothing, Sia tried her best and don't judge before seeing the hole film and you'll know why she picked Maddie instead of others !!!

The fact that she went out of her way to cost an autistic person and then noticed that they felt uncomfortable and they didn’t like it so she decided not to put that person under scrutiny so people can judge and be mean and get one of her people To do it instead to me means a lot most autistic people just want to be treated the same or left alone and researching for three years about autism speaks a lot everybody’s going to have opinions but she went out of her way to learn and be with people with disabilities people are just sucks that they can’t get where they want to be in life so they jump down peoples throat.
