Because East Coast has the greatest MCs. And I don't discriminate,if you're a dope rapper, you're a dope rapper,no matter where you from

I feel you on that "influential",yo. He's top 10 in that category for sure. I was speaking on greatest rappers though. And Face is no doubt a great rapper & puts out good music but there are def 10 better rappers

Face has been named more than once as an inspiration to half the MCs u named in the first place. u sick if u think anybody up there with face other than Jigga Nas and big. we talkin bout INFLUENTIAL Scarface aint hada wack album since 86 n is def the foundation for gangsta rap more so than NWA and the west coast movement they have great legends and contributed alot but if it werent for Face and the Geto Boys them or NONE of the MCS u named would have had the same platform without Face. Original.

Outkast is hands down the most influential in the South, created original flows, and mastered their craft.

@HipHop226 When an MC is at his best he,or she, becomes an artist, there is no seperation. And no,Pac and Face aren't better artists then Rakim.Ra changed the rap game forever when Paid in Full dropped in '87.Rakim is arguably the greatest rapper of all time.

@HipHop226 Intricate word play doesn't make you a better MC.As an MC your job is to be the Master of Ceremonies, hold the audiences attention. Can you really tell me that Canibus can,in the words of the God MC,"move the crowd" better then Lil Wayne?I doubt that.

@blackricktheruler Like Lil Wayne is a better artist than Canibus but is he a better MC? of course not

@blackricktheruler Face is maybe a better artist than some of those guys but he isnt a better M.C. Face and Pac are better rap artists than Rakim but neither are better MCs than Ra

@HipHop226 If you're talking JUST lyrical ability, then i'd say maybe. But lyrical isn't just saying intelligent metaphors and similies and flow. How much of an impact the words spit by the rapper has on the listener is just as important. Is Tupac more lyrical then any rapper you named, maybe not,but can he make a song that draws emotions better then them? You damn right and Face is the same way.Only Nas,Big,Jay,Rakim,Em,Kane and KRS belong in the same breath as Scarface from the guys you named.

Im not just saying southern rap is whack. Most cats here are whack too. South got some cold MCs I like. Little Brother,Dead Prez,J.Cole,Dre 3000,Face,Bun,K Rin. Just like to hear great hip hop music b. How much your gold grill cost, rim, hoes, mudereing each other. You know they need to stop that son, word up

@paulandj I respect that but he is def top 10 out the south. From his albums to his work on the chronic albums and he wrote for Snoop tooThe list has Wayne number 4 for most influential. You telling me he is influential to yall? Thats a pure joke. Ive listened to some of his records and he isnt influential at all and a terrible lyricist
