God this brings me back…….. I have so many Fuhr hockey cards from the 80's 🙂
I would love to have seen just how far STL would had gotten in the playoffs that year. It was so unfortunate to have had a season ending injury like that, after coming back and having such a terrific year..I was 10 yrs old and completely heart broken for him and at our chances of a Cup victory! Thats even with the other all-stars and HOF'ers playing on that team, like Gretzky, Hull, Pronger and MacInnis… damn! I just remember STL fans being so stoked to be getting Fuhr and having him and Gretzky back together on a team. As a fan, you could just feel this sense of something good, like, these guys are going all in for one last shot at a Cup run together. It felt magical or poetic..and if they would have been successful, I believe it would have been kind of poetic. If you're a Blues fan, you know what the outcome was after we lost Fuhr that night.. and even though John Casey took over, he played really good and even got us to the 2nd round vs Detroit….BUT all I can say is . . "Stevie Y" is the devil in a Redwing jersey!! LOL. I truly believe that the Blues would have won the Cup that year! Grant Fuhr was one of the best and my most favorite goalies to have ever "stacked the pads" , in the history of NHL and definitely in St. Louis!! I was too young to remember Liut, or others from before 83. Sure, "Cujo" was one of my favorites too, but Grant Fuhr was just completely on another level and playing like he was in his prime at 35, 36! Awesome Documentary!
I always thought he was overrated, Fluery too
"'i'm not drafting this guy" …drafted #8 of the first round
Loved it!! Fuhr was one of the best goalies to watch!!
AWESOME!!!
