I lived there when working there as a dentist. A quiet peaceful life is how I'd describe living there. No major traffic jam like in big city. Rent was also on the cheaper side. Basically a city you'd work if you wanna save up money as not even a mall is present.

Perlis used to be just a district under the Kedah Sultanate and some times ago after the war with the Thai and something yadayada happened the Kedah Sultan gave Perlis to one of his minister the district of Perlis to govern it and gave it interdependence and the title of Raja for the governor. That is why Perlis is the only state in Malaysia that has a Raja as its ruler and not Sultan.
