I remember when I heard this song as a kid back in the 80's, I would go to West End shows and thought to myself Β catchy song for a new musical at West End called Last Kiss wonder Β when it will come out and it never did lol
Love it! We all love you David! Saw a clip with you on the Howie Mandel show and the nut lady sings and you try to help her sing at the end of her song! You say to Howie, "Sometimes you feel like a nut and the nut lady says, turning towards you, "Sometimes you meet one!" You ease out of her way, fast! LOL!
Thank you. I was lucky enough to make him up a few times .. If you had told me when I was 10 that I would meet him for real years later…I wouldn't have believed you…..He was ever so nice
@keithyoong Thank you for your reply, i didnt know it was actually a cover version, but i did suspect it as i do know that cliff and david have met! I thought it was a coincidence that the songs sounded the same.
@Loverboy19691 Spot on my friend. However, no prize for you, sorry. It was meant to be a slow version of Sir Cliff's song Young Love, of course with different lyrics. Both songs written by Alan Tarney. So no copyright infringement here. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
This song is so very simuler to a song that cliff richard recorded in 1981 for his wired for sound album, the song cliff recorded was called 'young love' please check this out and reply to me and tell me you notice the striking simularity!,..thank you!
Great reworking of Cliff's "Young Love" from Wired for Sound. Different lyric, tempo and arrangement but still the same melody. It's not a rip off though since Alan Tarney wrote and produced the two songs. Actually I always enjoy listening to the two songs back to back . Best Regards Gerry
The quality of this footage [from 1985] of David Cassidy leaves something to be desired …… but it is noticeable that Cassidy – at the ripe 'old' age of thirty-five – was still a very good-looking, handsome man; even though his days as a 'weenybopper' idol had long since passed.
Incidentally, backing vocals on Cassidy's final Top 10 hit single in the UK ["The Last Kiss"] were performed by George Michael. In 1985, Mr Michael was as big a 'weenybopper' idol as Cassidy had been in 1973.
Wow! I'm not sure that this even qualifies as song. It's a drum machine set to a barely perceptible melody. Man, Cassidy somehow managed to latch himself on the all the worst trends of the 80s (nasty highlighted mullet, cheesy sport's jacket, neon colors, melodramatic lip syncing, hollow electronic musical sounds, etc). He strikes me as someone who can't come to terms w/the fact that he's not a teen idol anymore. Some of those faces he was making were cringe-worthy. Looks like a little gnome
@lagnaf007 Good God man, at least the guy has a good voice, try watching a video of Diana Vickers, her voice doesn't even sound like a human being, just a jumble of computer effects.
I remember seeing him that year
David I have to apologize once George joined in i kind zoned out and saw him LOL
Never forget your face and smill
Love the song and love david???
Gorgeous man, beautiful voice. Stil cannot believe he is gone

Great song and the best in that year of 1985 Just wonderful to see him back in the charts and on top of the pops
Love this song βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

Great to see this. He was my idol and I was lucky enough to do his make up for this performance. Remember it like it was yesterday
Wow this could turn me.

george michael is singing baking vocals on this track……anyone notice ????????
@keithyoong One day I'll find it……….but doubt it will be going on ebay until my daughters are in charge of it. π
@BusyMumm20011 Go look for it, girl ! Put it up on eBay. Lol !
Love watching these 80's TOTP clips. Loved this song – had the single cover signed by David himself. Wonder what happened to it?
Feck me David.. what size chest are those strides.???
That's not the real David Cassidy. I don't think he put himself up to this with the style, etc. This must have been a low point in his return.

With a hairstyle like that, he should have been playing in Tottenham's 1987 FA Cup Final side.

@SeventiesMania Good voice? Yes. Gay ass video? Yes. I've always been a fan of his, but the 80s …. well they sucked for him.

Als Teenie war ich so verliebt in diesen kleinen Kerl.
brilliant … George michael nicked this tho and made it into Last Christmas
the 80s was "the" worst year for music and "hair"!!!!!! David looks bad. I love David Cassidy too!!!
