Great beat but it's way too difficult to try and count bars, like the bpm is all over the place

Dude… its 4/4.. The hihats are just in triplets and the snare is set differently but the time signature is basic 4/4

Definitely not in 3/4! I hear a group of 2 strong beats, divided by triplets.

This is not 3/4 time! It is a standard slow-tempo, 12/8 time.

I would say that this is 12/8. It has a triplet beat pattern, but has more of a quadruple metre feel. The beats wouldn't comfortably fit around around a 4/4 metre, but the triplet feel is too quick to place it in 3/4. Sometimes the metre doesn't quite comfortably add up to 3 all the time, so 9/8 wouldn't work either, as that would disrupt the placement of the upbeat. If you count 4 lots of 3 beats, it fits perfectly, thus 12/8! 🙂

This can be counted in 3/4, 6/8, and 4/4. However, because there is emphasis in the snare pattern on beats 2 and 4 (a characteristic of hip-hop that emerged from jazz and blues) it feels like it naturally should be a slower 4/4. This is open to interpretation of course, but if someone were to present verses over this, they would be naturally inclined to phrase them in the slower 4/4, as this is how modern hip hop evolved. This does not have a 3/4 feel, regardless of what the hi-hat is doing. Also, if phrased in 4/4, the hat hits still work with the feel of the piece as triplet notes. Fantastic instrumental though.

Is it possible to purchase just the underlying the drum track–without any of the strings or other instruments?

So, since this beat is sold, would I have to contact whoever bought the beat if I wanted to use it purely for non profit purposes and ask them for permission to do so?

Shut all this 4/4 mess down… It's a 3/4 count… It has a "Waltz" sound to the rhythm… Most Waltzes (I've heard) have 3/4 time signatures… Youtube this: "The Most Beautiful Waltz Music" (=FaxTRX9oAV4), sub the kick for timpani, and then the staccato strings rhythm for the high hat rhythm… This beat has a "Waltz", circular feel to the ear.. Nowhere near a 3/4 time signature… Producers, learn about more music than just hip hop, rnb, and soul aight… Peace…

I'm pretty sure actually most of these time signature interpretations are correct depending on how you measure it, its just a question of which way to measure it makes the most sense

haha dude if this were 4/4 you'd be saying that one beat is over a second (count it out and see for yourself), therefor this song would be less than 60 bpm which is an obvious sign you're wrong. You're counting one measure as one beat. When listening to this song think, one two three, two two three, three two three, four two three. (possibly upvote this comment so everyone else can understand)

It's in 4/4 played with triplets. The snare lands on beats 2 and 4, but in 3/4 time the snare lands on 2 and 3. Therefore, this creates a boom click click boom click click feel. You might be confusing 3/4 with 4/4 played with triplets.

Guys, the uploader is correct in saying it's 6/8. That's not the same thing as 3/4, but it's still a pretty hot beat, no? Give the man (or woman, I don't know or care) his (or her) due

you have 4 beats per measure, and youre assigning a quarter note one beat. that is the definition of 4/4. not trying to be an ass. its dope.

Sorry to say but that most certainly is not 3/4 timing. Look up some 3/4 drum pattern.
