JESUS said, "Whoever serves Me must follow Me; & where I am, My servant will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me" (John 12:26). Die to self, & LIVE!
I remember getting this tape for Christmas with a Walkman and I lost my shit!!!!! I was only like 10 years old and had no idea how deep this song was!! Just always loved Public Enemy!!!
Wow! A full history lesson all in one powerful video. Chuck D is quite the poet. The tragedy is how little has changed over 400 years for blacks. One of my white friends pissed me off until l asked him how many whites have been shot and murdered by the police as of late. No answer. Interesting how relevant Public Enemy’s video is even today.
If Martin Luther King could rap….He would sound like Chuck D…..his tone and lyrics are like MLK reincarnated with powerful messages waking up all cultures in efforts of destroying oppression. Makes me want to do positive big things socially and economically. This shit provokes positive thinking and makes you think on how to fight the power by building inclusive systems to uplift the bottom rails of society. Fighting the power by ways of self sufficiency an self investment and development…..we will never win with march an protest…because thats asking and begging the oppressor. We CAN WIN by combining our resources and implementing systems that will grow us to be bonified competitors of the many big corporate industries. We must sow that one seed…and scale up.
