People are crazy who call this movie horrible! People who think this movie is horrible, jus read this comment carefully.I watched it thrice in the theaters thats how much I loved it.?. Some people cannot pay attention to the fact tht how much detail is added into this film by patty Jenkins. Details like, patty Jenkins Made this Film very similar to 1975 wonder woman Tv series starring lynda Carter.
She paid attention to the details like,
1 ) in the 1975 TV series version, wonder Woman never had a shield and Sword. She only used lasso for fighting. The exact same thing can be seen in the new Wonder Woman 1984 tht wonder Woman doesn't have a sword and shield but in rest of the movies like wonder Woman 2017 and justice League (Snyder's cut, I don't wanna even wanna think tht Whedon's version ever existed) and Batman v Superman, wonder woman has a shield and sword.
2) In the 1975 lynda Carter's version of wonder woman, She used to use her tiara as a throwing disc as form of weapon during a fight. The exact same thing can be seen in wonder woman 1984. Gal Gadot's wonder Woman does the exact same thing with her tiara.
3) the original Wonder woman theme song (yes tht amazing one) 'is she with you' and all the other soundtracks have been given an 80s twist since this movie takes place in 1984. Even her costume is more vibrant /shiny in this film because everything in the 80s was really vibrant. And also it includes shopping malls which were like a major part of the 80s.
4) the last thing, they included Lynda Carter herself in this film ?but in a different role
And the most important thing I wanna point out is tht, Patty
Jenkins Said something once in a interview tht Wonder woman 1984 is is a perfect film during these times because Wonder Woman 1984's story is quite similar to what's happening irl. With all the coronavirus pandemic and the whole world is struggling. And the same thing can be seen in Wonder woman 1984 tht the whole world is in trouble. So the ending scene where wonder woman is sitting on the floor holding the lasso which is tied to max Lord's leg and through tht she talks to everyone and makes them renounce their wish, teaches us tht even wonder Woman sometimes is vulnerable like humans and has feelings, sorrows and problems of her own which she cannot fight like irrespective of her being wonder Woman who is so powerful and is a Goddess, cannot bring back the love of her life. So she had to face the truth tht nothing is permanent and she cannot bring back someone who is gone..So she renounces her wish in order to gain her powers back and save everyone else. So u should just face the truth and accept it. These are all the reasons which make Wonder Woman 1984 an amazing film. ❤

This is 100% what the movie was going for
I read several of the comments before I wrote this one, and I totally agree with everyone who commented on the fact that this should have been included in the movie!!! Also, Patty Jenkins should have had Gal do the famous WW spin; like having Diana at that mall shopping, she goes off in secret does the spin like Lynda Carter did in the old series. And after she checks herself to make sure her transformation is complete, swings into action as Wonder Woman. The movie should have incorporated a ton of 80's music, should have had Steve and Diana dance together to a romantic and/or up beat song. Side comment: I recommend everyone who hasn't seen American Horror Story's 1984 tv season to watch it. They totally captured the time era of the 80's with the music and vibe!!! Also, going back to the first film, I wished either Diana's mother (like in the old tv series) or Steve Trevor made a reference to her being (a) Wonder Woman. In the tv series Diana's mother told her "Go in peace my daughter. And remember that in a world of ordinary men, you are a Wonder Woman!" Or Steve, before he got on that plane he died in, could have said: "I can save today, but you can save the world", (and added this part in) "because you're (a) Wonder Woman!" Finally, Gal has captured Wonder Woman by combining Lynda Carter's beauty and spirit as WW and Lucy Lawless' fearless and skill as Xena: Warrior Princess, with a touch of Cathy Lee Crosby's style in the'74 tv movie WW in the way she dresses in the colors of red, white and blue when she's not in her WW outfit. I hope everyone finds the wonder within themselves to do amazing things in their own lives and in the lives of others who may need your help. And no matter how bad it may seem in this world, " Believe in love!" ?

as a fan of WW it looked like you focused on making a retromix rather than a wonder woman film, the first one was awesome, the second not even tryhard, the cheetah's development was missing, maxwell's arc was disappointing and let's just pretend that this movie never happend because diana doesn't have the same attitude as in batman v superman, wonder woman and rhe snydercutin some weeks.
This should've been made/released prior to the movie release. Anyway, I love this!❤❤❤
