People, they changed the box later on, giving the use finger slits on the side to better grab the bottom part, and i'm pretty sure they lessened the vacuum a bit. That's why lots of us didn't have problems. I'm pretty sure only the first couple of batches actually had to deal with this.

I don't remember running into significant problems unboxing mine. Here's hoping the successor model will up the ante by being packaged in a box welded together out of high-carbon steel panels.
