How can something be ruined for the better?
Before watching murs gon say the music better ??♂️
Nigga i'm so ol' school even kurtis Blow bite my flow
Money, the root of all evil.
Of course the money made an art form worse. But it was inevitable from the start.
Hey I know it's late, but someone help me out. I cant find the song in the video by, I think he says "the big time"? The clip says "slap that bitch, punch that ho" anyway I cant find the song anywhere if someone could give a title I'd appreciate
making it all about an illusion is not gonna look good when our future kids wake up
Just to let ya know, one of the Best albums ever Lifestyle ov da poor and dangerouz, One of the best Hip Hop Groups Poor Righteous Teachers, now shout the f** up.
Ice cube- wearing chinchilla, take your bull shit jewelry back to Jacob, diamonds all up in your mouth Child support
If it dont make dollars it dont make sense
Of course not!! Money doesn't ruin anything. It also doesn't make anything better.
As much as I'd love to say that money ruined HipHop… The unfortunate reality is that the internet is currently ruining HipHop. Particularly because it has allowed talentless hacks to make millions based on nothing more than their Instagram presence and a Soundcloud account.
They don't even have to be dope anymore and can still make a shit ton of cash by being glorified "influencers" online.
Money destroys art. It’s plain and simple. There is no “opinion” to be had in the matter. You clown ass millennials want to justify the the awfulness of your generations brand of hip hop. Whatever with that shit. Hip hop is modern day minstrel and y’all dummies quick to jump up and down for a dollar. Where I’m from, that’s clown shit. Unfortunately, it was always the inevitable path of the mainstream part of the genre under capitalism. As long as you keep justifying being pimped out and hoed down for a bag, don’t expect to get any respect from anybody with any dignity
Not to many dogs can really handle big money when they come from nun
What is your top 100 songs? I'd appreciate a link.
Money definitely takes the edge off creativity. Its the same in many different industries. As soon as money becomes highest priority, creativity will suffer. Listening to cash, money, cash, chains, rich, money, paper, cash, makin it rain, cash all the time gets tiring to hear after a while as well.
Depends what they do with the money and what it represents for them. If a rapper that came from nothing made it, I think they earned the right to be proud (Not in a way to show-off with it), but to use it for the better, Hell yeah. If it's just about showing you got money and shit, Fuck no.
i thought 9:49 was his execution until i let those 4 seconds pass lol
im sorry but im over the age of it being an excuse for this but i would much rather be rich with shit music thats made and produced by others than doing my own shit being the best rapper ever and having no way to market it
Cash rules everything around me CREAM get the money dollar dollar bill yall
You totally missed the influence of ghetto boys changing gang culture to a more more community friendly Unit. Although your video wasn't about that, Just food for thought as I find it's always glossed over.
So all the ppl that got out of poverty do to hip hop. Everything has a good and a bad. It’s all perspectives.
We didn't come from nothing.
What we have is a problem of culture, not craft, it is the culture that the craft caters to and the whole debate is a matter of mistaking cause for effect.
The moment that we as a society, and the culture we embrace, start being less materialistic, we would surely see music following suit. But as of now, this is what we have to deal with.
Music lost it's flavor as a whole because of money and this technology hungry generation, the further back you go the more artists had to build themselves/their fanbase/their genres over long periods of time and becoming rich over music was very rare and a very hard and long grind.
Thank god for underground music where there still is soul
Andre3k showed it very simply on a shirt : Art or Fart?
Thx for the wu is the goat piece.
Murs, I've been watching a dozen of you DMX clips. I never fully agree nor disagree. Much respect. Peace.
Sadly, materialism in Hip Hop has taught the new generation that money is all that matters. Modern rappers would do well to remember how much Pac had in the bank, when he died. Do it for the love of the artform, or stay your ass at home.
MURS A.K.A. never negative about anything/I like everything/it's fun to defend dumb shit b/c I like argument.
Did hip hop destroy the youth? Break it down murs!
Money is the root of all evil.
unpopular opinion: everyone is saying mumble rappers are only focussed on money, which might be true, BUT Jay-Z‘s music is not available on Spotify! And you can’t tell me this is because of artistic differences, no it’s all because he wants to boost his lil business…fuck Jay-Z
Money is always good for a community. Obsessing over money as a positive trait is not good for an art though. And investing in gold chains and other bling is not good for anyone. I don't see Zucc, or Gates, or Bezos or god damn Putin, the richest asshole of them all wearing bling. Do you?
