This is by far the best version of this song: vocal dynamics are through the roof, her vocal weight fluctuates extremely well, her acrobatic riffs and melismas are akin to an Olympic gymnast, the way she spins notes are zephyr-like and she exhibits the best control on this performance… possibly because she suffered stage fright at this period in her career and this was the last number of the show, allowing her to just let loose and leave everything on the stage. Regardless, in my opinion, this marked one of the best live vocal concert recordings in history.

Mariah never has great emotional presence or presentation for me. But this was her best and shows she could have been live performer that rivaled Whitney’s stage presence. This is my favorite show of her. Love Mariah
This stripped down performance proves that the original recorded version didn’t need to be made. All the electronics, synths and drum machines are unnecessary and detract from the song. The whole band just kills it!
