The news got it all wrong…Youngblood became a plague in the comic book industry.
ha! i bet their wishing it was the next Superman or Spider-Man
To all the 14 year old youtube brats that don't think Rob is great….you little fuckers got proved wrong by this video!
I started reading Image Comics in 1997 when I was 14 and the SPAWN movie came out.
Rob was one of my favorites!
So was Spawn creator Todd McFarlane!
Youngblood was awesome then, and, now that it is back in print is awesome now!
His stuff was hard to get at the comic book store because
people pre-ordered all the copies before I got there to get mine.
But I got some.
Rob sold more comic books than you little punks could ever hope to make in your lifetime!
Rob's work has proven him as one of the best creators in comic book history!
So next time you little punks talk shit, remember to watch this video and realize that none of you have ever bought or read a comic with your own money in your lives!
I have read more comic books than you people have spent doing nothing but playing video games.
Rob is one of the comic book greats!
Period!
max respect!
I was nearly a month old when this happened.
If they like Rob Liefeld, good for them.
49 cents that's how much I spent on Youngblood #1 and I found it in the comic book bargin bin at a used book store
To put it Bluntly, Rob is an all time badass of comics! All other arguments are Invalid! nuff said.
I'd love to revisit 1992….
A comic artist today, would be hard pressed to gain this type of success and coverage on national television. Everyone is so overly critical and cynical today. Even if a creator is well deserving of this type of attention, people today would take the opportunity to throw jabs from every direction. The 90s were cool (not perfect, but far more easy going). People didn't have sticks up their butts, everywhere you turned. No such thing as rampant misguided SJWs either. Thanks for sharing this riprod.
hahaha "New Superman or Spiderman"??
These news clips are awesome. I know I personally have about 10 copies of this book lol…Such good times back then.
No Alpha it was all the fly by night companies that launched after that tried to emulate Image's success. That E news story really plays to the lowest common denominator as far as depicting fandom as dumb collectors. I was there for 7 hours, over a thousand people, most were long time readers who had followed my entire career up until then. Youngblood came on the heels of New Mutants and X-Force which had both achieved huge momentum.
Is this what cause the comic book bubble to pop? People going crazy over first issues?
Looks like a lot of people interested in comics. At least buying first issues and trying to get rich off of them :/
It must have been awesome being Rob back then. Like a rock star.
