Honestly the only pop artist I see that are doing something with their lyrics are Taylor swift , lady Gaga and Halsey (yes halsey you re a pop artist not a rockstar)
MONEY! The music fans decided to stop paying for music which means the musicians now get nothing and work for free. Does this affect the quality of music?? Of course it does. Sales down 70% with 60% of Pro musicians having to go out and get Day jobs! Amateur musicians will NEVER be as good as Pro musicians. The band Queen received $500,000 to record the song 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and now the fans think that some amateur musician working in his bedroom studio can come up with something similar working on NO BUDGET!! How ridiculous! We used to have Beatles, Beach Boys, Led Zep, Pink Floyd and Queen and now we have Britney, Katie and Miley! The fans are finally getting what they deserve! Crap, disposable 'flavor of the month' music is the future of music until people start paying for music again
Tbh, when I was gaining interest into EDM, it made me not like pop anymore because I found out that most of it imo sounds the same but some like Blinding Lights by The Weeknd is so good especially the beat but every other one is just meh plus a lot of them are also popular through tik tok
And thanks to those dumb kids to listen to pop music I’m stuck with that music on the radio so now I have to either use my phone or bringing CDs of bands I want to listen to so yeah thanks a lot for making that music be popular
Music these days sucks just like the generation that makes it.
I fucking hate it when people insist on putting the radio on capital fm. They just play the same shit over and over. It's even more irritating when whoever listens to it decides it has to be really loud. A few months ago I had no earphones for about 4 weeks when I was at work and the radio was always on capital, it was like I was in Hell.
If you hate modern popular music from the 2000s all the way to the present, if you despise popstars, rappers, DJs, EDM, hip hop, dub-step and all that other digital bullshit, than you my friend friend should become a metalhead like myself. Heavy Metal has always been my perfect escape from mainstream pop music and all the other fake talent bastards. If you wish to listen to Heavy Metal, I would recommend bands like Motorhead, Slayer, Pantera, Kreator, W.A.S.P, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and if you want to take it more extreme, Cannibal Corpse. I also enjoy listening to Hard-core Punk, Hard Rock, Jazz, Blues, Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Power Metal and bit of classic rock from the 60s and 70s. Fuck all popstars!!! Praise the Metal Gods!!! ????????????????♠️♠️♠️?????????????️?️?️???
Metal will always be superior ?
Part 2 please?
You would think that with recording software being more accessible and advanced, it would be easier to be MORE creative with songwriting, engineering and production. But instead it just allows artists to throw together some slop in a few hours and release it onto the public. Really shows that it's all about the money and not the art nowadays.
Stay to metalcore/melodic deathmetal and you dont have to worry about this;)
Modern pop music is absolute garbage!
When it’s now halfway through 2020 and almost nothing has changed…
This video states why I hate modern pop and rap so accurately
We need honest music we can connect and relate to
I could describe all of what you've just said with two words: Mass. Production.
My only guess is that it’s a nice beat why ppl like it I hate pop and stuff
Hold on ,pretending ,shelter and monsters makes me cry and some other songs too but music by Nicki Minaj and e.t.c i dont listen to them anymore
This is why i prefer Kpop and Jpop thh are more sensible and thats why l love bands like BTS ?
They all use autotune now and it's so sad that they can't sing and they have to cover it up
My biggest problem with today’s pop music is a lot of it overly repetitive lyrics, very generic and usually lacks real instruments if any. And don’t get me started auto tune, that’s another common practice in today’s pop music I can NOT stand.
You don't mind if i roast you real quick. It comes from a place of love. Bruh shave that chin, you look like you would sing a soft, acoustic version of plush by stone temple pilots.
You do have a point, but don’t go lashing out on my boi Charlie Puth. He started studying piano when he was 4 and went to Berklee college of Music. He is a musical genius when it come to producing and writing songs. He is also one of the few artists out there who actually make their own music nowadays.
2020 and I haven’t listened to na na since 2016
I still really like Souja Boy's Crank Dat lmao
Pop was always been simple music for the masses. Pop audience have become dumber so the music follow and become even simpler and dumber.
Katy Perry makes my childhood songs, why did you put her in the thumbnail?? Do you want a million dislikes for that?
the problem is it’s pop
Nothing wrong with not having a chorus. Personally, I don't mind (maybe this stems from being a killjoy) if the song wouldn't fit with one. What I dislike is those lazy copouts you mention in the video. Lack of a chorus is fine. A caddywompus repetition of a phrase is much, much worse than an entire lack of one. Just look at songs like Boy Division, where there's no chorus, or Headfirst for Halos, when nearly the whole song is the chorus because of the pattern. I think people need to have more creativity with what and where a chorus can be in a song.
1. It sucks
2. It sucks
3. It sucks
4. It sucks
5. It sucks
6. It sucks
7. It sucks
Am i right?
I can't stand any of the music post 2005
Whoa, Glory was a solid album
Well now it's 2020 and nothing has changed. Music in general since the 70's and 80's when I was growing up has gotten worse. When I think nothing can get worse than it already is here comes autotune. Whomever invented autotune should get shot!
I do like a well-used fade out, but I find nothing wrong with a dramatic end to a dramatic song. I love punk rock (mostly subgenres but punk is a good catch-all), and a lot of those songs are driving forward, and just take up space. Songs like that wouldn't work as well with a fade out, but with artists like Elton John, the fades work with the style and genre of music.
When I hear today's music, I always think, God I wish Kurt Cobain was still alive
Artist that dont have problems
Linkin Park
twenty one pilots
eminem
Queen
Beatles
nirvana
green day
Edit : sorry twenty one pilots is a big problem now
Don't worry dude… I hate all the pop songs (ALL)
Mj is king of pop
true story, when i played my 2 year old boy i don´t wanna know an then 21 pilots ´ heathens, thank god he chose heathens
This is why I listen to mcr
i like the lack of fade outs, fade outs fucking suck in my opinion
You wanna hear a good artist with an acoustic guitar? Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uetFO7y8WPA&t=1138s. This proves there are still very good artists (btw he isn't a pop singer. But if u wanna know who he is, look him up after you watched some of this link. You'll be amazed.)
Simple and short, leave the pop music to kids that can relate and just want to have fun. When you grow up, find a genre to connect with.
Modern pop music isn't made with any emotions, it's just made for making money
I'll never understand how people can even bear to listen to 'Closer'. It's just soo terrible!
We need to revive Rock!
You sound like you're about to cry. who hurt you (besides the music industry)
I've never understood the purpose of fade-outs.
As the song fades it gets harder to hear. I know it means the songs ending, but why not just stop if it's at the end anyway?
What exactly is the point?
