She does trouser roles in a psychologically convincing way. I saw Glyndebourne's Rosenkavalier and cringed for a lot of it. Costumes set and stage direction all over the top and no emotional grounding. The singers were good but the storytelling did not work. By contrast I find Alice Coote compelling ..
