This show served as my background noise. It’s not horrible but insanely unrealistic. The main character is so flawed and almost unlikeable. I hope there’s some character growth soon.

I'd say it's not embarassing for French, it's an embarassement for the US, showing it's ignorance and/or lack of respect for other cultures.

I get their point on why the French are upset. For someone who doesn’t live in Paris or have never been to, I can only guess what it’s like to live there. Nevertheless, I think the show is funny and entertaining. I don’t think it’s meant to be super serious, and I’m sure they don’t mean to offend anyone.
