very underrated movie and Denzel role
Thank you for uploading this incredible documentary gotta love spike lee ?
WB studio heads have a history of messing up movies. Justice League to Malcom X.
I loved Malcolm X and Spike seems like a true artist but the music in this documentary makes my ears bleed
Mo better blues ?
i know this has nothing to do with the video but i think they should make a film about frank sinartra also one of my favorites from spike
One of the most underrated movies ever. This movie is pure genius. It's two men at the top of their game making a movie about something very important. And if the Academy members had any real taste, it would have won Best Picture and he would have won best actor.
So sad this movie isnt talked about these days.
Cosby financed Malcolm X? That didn't age well.
i love spikes 90s movies
Yes, indeed! Spike Lee, the trailblazer! Thank you for this inside look, into Spike’s message. ✊??
I watched the video on "A history of Violence". That one focused entirely on production, setting up the shots, makeup, stunts. This is a movie with gruesome violence mind you. Director didn't have to fight for money. In fact, they mentioned he had final cut.
Then you come Malcolm X, an extremely important story. and it about how the studio didn't give them enough money, let editors and post-production people go during post-production, and how the director had to go to people to ask for money.
See the difference?
I love how Spike said Amistad focused on the lawyers instead of the African's story. So true. I never realized this is how it should have been.
They got Darth Vader to narrate back then?
32mins only
That's a great doc about a great film. Thanks for sharing on youtube.
Don't you think Steven Spielberg is one of the Hollywood's Most Influential Filmmaker ?
???
Interesting but I wished many things put in movie like Malcolm x Meeting Fidel Castro king Faisal Kwame Nkrumah and Martin Luther king jr
