This was the review that introduced me to Anthony. This album, El-p's Cancer4Cure (before they were Run the Jewels together) & Mars Volta's Noctourniquet MADE my 2012. They were the soundtrack's of my year. Coming back to rewatch this review 8 years later, it blows my mind that I have been watching your videos for this long & that it has been 8 LONG years since I was first able to see Killer Mike & El-p (along with Mr. MFing Esquire & Despot) perform the BEST show of my life @ the Grog Shop in Cleveland. I adore how far Anthony & RTJ have come. ♡ .. Side note, I also really love that Killer Mike was just a voice & sang a rap song, about being Bad & Bald, on the show, Momma Named Me Sherriff. ?

I hate to be that dude considering that this was a mostly positive review, but like. One of your "fav tracks" wasn't Reagan? That song is honestly one of my favorite political songs of all time. I'm not even a fan of political records OR conspiracy records. But, the way he clearly did research and stated all of that to that slow crescendo from the beat gave me chills man. I mean, I know you said in your review that "this has been rapped about so many times before" but like, that doesn't mean it's bad. Sometimes, if an artist can phrase it better, or can explain it over a better beat and better delivery, it equals a better song. I'm not gonna be an idiot acting like Mike invented these conspiracies, but like I said, that doesn't fuck over the song.

I seems like you don't really rate the depth content of the subject matter when rating an album. Cancer 4 Cure had much more difficult to contrive ideas and it should be noticed, it's just something that would take a lot longer to think of and that gets no credit?

I really don't see the big deal about this one to be honest.. :/ I'm a fan of El-P's production in the past and I really dug "Run The Jewels".. also I think Mike's other stuff is great and he's one of the few Southern rappers I can really stand.. but this one I just feel is just not that impressive..just my opinion I'd give it a light to decent 6
