Do you have perfect pitch?
0:16 music? please
Why does 80s pop music sound so good?………….they grew up with record players listening to 50s,60s,and 70s, music……why does our music suck? You grew up dicking around on computers listening to hip hop.
H chord? *mind blown*
I was waiting for him to play the Mario 64 underwater theme bc of the tune the whole time but yet still I‘m not disappointed
I like that London tune. You can't beat the 80s sound. Thank you for the great video
me: falls asleep listening to terrible music from a reviewer
wakes up to the amazing sound of the 80's
@ 1:58 I expected you to say "Steal Away"
Man I could spend hours listening to this piano sound style.
A most excellent video Espen! : )
Pretty much becoming one of my favorite channels on YouTube. Espen, if I were to send you some music, what would be the best way? Thanks and keep it up!!
Hellow Espen K: By random YouTube offer me today this your video. I suscribed to your channel why? Well Master, I am complete ignorant in academic music. I don't know how to write or read music. In fact and for guitar I create my own nomenclature (as strange this can sound) to remember the chords I do for each song I cover (I have +350 covers) https://bit.ly/AngelCabreraCover. But I am a composer in essence. Recently I bought SCALER 2 and CHORD POTION to help me built chords beyond my own horizons and there they have all that ugly musical nomenclature I wanted to understand from years ago and no way. But you and in this video, not been your intention gave me the tip to understand the key you can create a Fmaj7 (for example) from a Fmaj, and so on a 9,11,6 etc. I came to my SCALER 2 after your video to find if I got it, and I yes, I did. Why I have years trying to find these from videos and never got it? Well maybe because video makers give this as something so basic that do not need to be mentioned. I am sure there might be videos that show that but I never found them and I review aroun +20 everyday and this way since 10 years back. So I wanted to thank you and let you know. I am sure you will like to read this from a viewer. By the way your class in the video was excellent, I understand other things. That about "Change of Scale" I think Barry Manillow made it frequently in his piano or what ever, it sound so great and give a amazin change to the song, I don't know if is the same you explained as Barry Manillow use it to go up in the scale but not so far as a complete octave up. Excuse me if I am not explaning well this, as I told you I am complete ignorant … somehow I made music with a lot of love more than knowledge. I am starting again to create videos after twitter kick me out after 10 years of twitter dedication and +500.000 followers posting only my music, my thanks, and friendship. And not so often as I need time to keep creating music. In this my YouTube Channel you can find the recent few videos I am doing, I subtitle my spanish song in english. My own music is all posted here https://angelcabrera.bandcamp.com/ Thanks so much Again
Because pop music from the zero's is so bad……
I never realised that H was another way to lablel B. I just learned something new.
Also synthesizers, big reverbed drums, chorus on keys and guitars, layered vocals, etc. Sound engineering has a lot to do with the magic of 80’s music. Not everything is music theory.
Could you pls. complete the song , " The Greatest Love of All". Thank you in advance
Excellent video! Thanks!
Espen man…. amazing vid!!! suchhhhh a good teacher!! Not often I subscribe to a channel and feel like I just went on a shopping spree without paying a cent, thank you!
Espen, WTF is an H? I must have missed that day at school.
Never ending Story, truly magical song, and one of my favorite! Even at 37yrs old!
I’m so glad I found your channel ❤️
Nice
I knew “Never ending story ” from this video at the very begining. And then knew the movie with the same name. Then the episode “Strange thing” make the song popular again. I really like the sony with type.
H??
You have a beautiful original track @6:20. Love it.
Espen please don't sing again or I will call the police on you !
What people seem to overlook is that in the 80s synths and keyboards like Yamaha DX-7 is as popular and famous as the artists of that time.
Now a days any idiot shows up playing an acoustic guitar or a grand piano and boring as hell, but get paid $1,ooo,ooo and depress the crap out of the audience. It is like a drug.

80s music was so good because there was a lot of music in it.
80s pop music may be more harmonically rich than pop music now, but sonically it sounds more dated than pop music of any other era. Massive drums with gated reverb, twinkly keyboard sounds (like in this video), everybody using the same settings on their DX-7. People thought it sounded futuristic at the time but it makes me want to run to the hills!
H note, lol
Great tutorial thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❗️
What the hell is the H??
