Would there even be an issue if Ak wasnt as famous? It seems people only really started to have a problem once "his brand" expanded… i mean the fact that you didnt even watch any of his old stuff kinda makes it hard for me to get behind what youre saying. He had multiple channels, thewarinchiraq being one of the more popular ones. But I dont feel like he was being that malicious, i feel like he genuinely liked the music and cared for some of the artists he reported on. Unfortunately because of that, he couldnt really report on his fav rappers without talking about what was goin on. i think the satirical route was the only way he could really go. Unlike vlad, whos a straight up instigator, you could tell Ak put some time into what he was doin. Which is why his comment section was/is so lit. I dont think he gets enough credit for even trying to shed a light on the violence, i never felt like he condoned it more than he was just saying WTF. I mean i think the typical Ak fan would prefer he go back to thewarinchiraq cuz thats when he seemed to have the most "inte-gritty". Thats just MY thoughts.

But Dj Ak brought up the topic of people talking about the violence in Chiraq. Dj Ak kind of set himself up.

Ey my dude interesting video, i agree with your perspective and approach, tho the responsible/ moral wielding of this independence and self determination you ascribe to content creators/ small news channels is totally proportional to the fame/ degree of widespread appeal they will garner. Great example is WSHH, like u mentioned vis a vi the reputation and influence they have on impressionable minds both in/out and for/against "the culture", cuz WSHH provides "what the (young and/or unwise) ppl want" thus they flew to the top. DjAk made a similar move, and an even clearer comparison/example is you, you (only seen 3 of yr vids, today) clearly are enlightened but humble, cautious but confident and you seek truth and "f the bs", ppl ain't gonna mob in the millions to sub you (i know u still growing) cause you have your integrity on lock – meanwhile WSHH don't give a shit about integrity or anything without immediate mass appeal, and imho Akademiks is in that greyer area in between: closer to you than worldstar, and not as evil or malicious in intent or principle as Vic made it seem, but still culpable, like you emphasize. Keep killing it homie

Rap is so fake. You get self righteous about "the culture" but you're such hypocritical babies. Akademiks is harming the culture for reporting on violence, but the rappers actually committing the violence and rapping about killing and violence in every song are just "artists telling their story"? This is bitch shit

I think when the people featured in the war in chi put there misdeeds, antics, crimes and stupidity on social media they allow it to be public which means anybody can comment and share. I don't agree with Akademiks sometimes but I will say he usually make a comment that detract people from the type of lifestyle these war in chi people promote

Ak makes the killers look not cool to people in chicago by making fun of it. Eventhough i do not agree with Akademiks approach, Vic Mensa was just hypocritical. He only go against Akademiks because he is the easiest target. He didn't speak about any rapper that diss dead people all the time. Lil Pump, Fetty Wap, Young Ma and Kodak Black dissed and made fun of dead people in chicago and Vic Mensa spoke out against none of them

As an Ak fan I totally understand y Vic was upset and I can see how depicting black people in that way is harmful but the fact of the matter is, is that silence is ten times worst. Whenever a white police officer kills our people the whole country knows about it but when these killings happen in our own communities and little kids and other bystanders are victims of revenge murders gone wrong are we supposed to stay silent? Is the world supposed to stay silent? Lemme answer that for you , for the most part they have been. That is why these parts of Chicago are called Chiraq way before AK even reported on them. The casualties of our troops match or pale in comparison to the murders in Chicago. NO ONE IN THE MAINSTREAM TALKS ABOUT IT AND THEY ARE THE REAL MONSTERS.

When Chicago is cited as one of the most dangerous places in the world and the center point scapegoat for reform in gun control by news outlets and the president, what exactly is Akademics exposing? So many people speak about how violent Chicago is, but I haven't heard one method of helping people in a city they don't even care to go to.
