I have the same story as X, only difference is an older woman tricked me. I wanted to see this as DMX blaming someone else for his own addiction but as i think about it, at the age 14, with no stable social/family structure, and having someone he viewed as his "mentor", it's only natural that he followed a certain path of behavior for the sake of his mentor and environment. Once you establish that train of thought early in your teens, it's very tough to break out of. Respect this man's struggle, artistry and honesty… hope he finds peace.
