When you’re really depressed, you reach a place in your mind where you’re comfortable and at peace.
That’s when you know you aren’t gonna get out of it.
"One bowl of sobu please." I say to the shop owner.
He nods and gets to work the clanking of pans and the smell of the dish fills the air. I gazed at the sky. It's dark even for an evening.
Glancing at the newspaper I read the headlines. As the radio on the counter emits a voice. "So thats it the last solar eclip to be seen on this continent in this century the next one is on the 17th of August 2017. Thats 38 years from now. May the shadow of the moon fall on a world at peace."
"I doubt that" I commented
"I think it has hope." The man responded.
I look at him shrugging my shoulders signalling to go on.
He understands and explains. "Life is harsh, heck I wanted to travel everywhere but I'm here." He stops for a moment before continuing. "But that hope keeps me going, hope for the future. If we lose that what then." He stops
I ponder that "Fair point." I said as he handed over my bowl. Rain slowly started to fall.
"You could be a motivational speaker." I said before taking a mouthful of sobu.
"Really?" the man said laughing.
"Yeah, you cheered me up." I responded between mouthfuls.
"I'll consider your advice." He said with a wide grin.
We continued to talk the evening away until we had to part ways. Its a shame moments like these don't last.
