Imma pause 3 seconds in… one of the best rap albums ever. Flow, lyrics, beat selection, samples. The album is immaculate

In my opinion the word overrated is so overused.

I do not think RD is overrated- even ppl who don't like Jay Z actually rate this album.nas stans acknowledge it's brilliance.

Whilst I actually think the black album and vol.1 (criminally underated) are his finest works. RD is a classic and not overrated. None of those other albums released in 96 were better than RD- possibly all eyes on me.

The only mediocre track on RD was bring it on. Everything else was fire. It's a classic but not his best work.

And the analysis here is flawed. I agree the black album was better but that doesn't mean RD is overrated or not a classic

Yeah definitely overrated. While I think it’s a classic I don’t think it’s one of the single greatest rap albums ever as most people say it is

Reasonable doubt is easily the most enjoyable for me to listen to fully because it doesn't sound outdated whereas blueprint and black album does. Idk how else to say it but i consider it a classic.

ppl sleep on life and times of s.carter by grouping it in with HKL and IML – it's easily the best out of the three imo and is somewhere between spots 3 and 4 for his best albums

Not remotely overrated. Tremendous flows, rhyme schemes, wordplay and storytelling. Lyrically his best work. Good production. Head and shoulders above the Blueprint which I thought was a little bit overrated (though still a solid 8/10 album for me). I also prefer The Black Album to the Blueprint.
