Honestly, how else were they going to react? Those people were CLEARLY baiting them and all but begging for a reason to start something big for it. I don't think it had anything to do with fear of public hatred and shame for it like when Maya didn't want to do an arrest because of cell phones recording. If they reacted to this obvious goading, it was probably just going to lead to a potential and unnecessary all out brawl. These people just wanted a reason to start a fight with police officers, get it all on YouTube and cast blame on the cops as though it was wrong of them to react at all.
I can’t stand season 9 for Jamie & Eddie. Liking Donnie better by the minute & I can’t believe I am thinking that. Hope the new Sarge can take people not following his orders because there were times he did not follow his BOSSES orders. Used to really love Jamie.
I love how Eddie is respected as a leader among her peers in the 2-9. She kept her temper in check, made a decision based on what she thought was the right thing to do, and the other cops followed her lead. Shows how much she has matured over the past five seasons.

Great to see Officer Janko demonstrating her seniority even if the outcome wasn't what anyone wanted. While it could be seen as a positive that Capt. Espinoza was ready to defend the actions of his officers it does seem that he really was just protecting his own position, a bit disappointing for someone who was supposed to be so keen to improve the situation & attitude at the 2-9.
