I'mma go dre over Diddy but it's super close… NwA weren't the originators of gangster rap but they were the hottest gangster rap group probably all time and it introduced us to 2 legends in Cube and Easy E.. move to death row snoop another legend… 2pac had already been a star from years prior but once he was on death row he was dropping hits after hits California love, hit em up etc, aftermath 2 more legends with Eminem and 50…. 50 had one of the hardest debuts ever! Puff Daddy wack. The only real contribution he ever did for hip hop was to introduce Biggie to the world (in particular the Ready to Die albumn). Dre did more for the game in one albumn, The Chronic, than Diddy has done in his career.
