I’m looking for another Bob Ross commercial where he painted a portrait of a famous musician. I think it was Sid Vicious. My memory is a little hazy but the commercial I think was for Kroq. It was ran a year before he died. Any one remember these?
MTV lost it when they decided to do more non-music related shows. I mean they did a few in the 90's under the MTV news banner or specials but when they started doing more reality shows and other BS. that when the channel's core idenity was dying. when they decided to removed the music television banner from the logo. that was the final nail in the coffin and outright insult and utter disrespect to the channel's legacy and history. VH1 followed the same path by being an E! channel knock off.
I remember this fondly! Around 1993 when id go to grandmas (because she lived in town and had cable) and record MTV on several 8 hour VHS tapes so I could take them home and watch them 🙂
