Happy Friday everyone. I was waiting weeks for another Indie/Pop/Folk playlist from Alex Rainbird and here it is.
"Satellites" by The Satellite Station was already featured as a singer on Alex's channel this month and it's a great opening track to this playlist. By now, we have already heard songs such as "Need You Right Now" and "Caught In The Middle" which is hands down the best song of 2020 in my opinion. "Satellites" is another great track to add to that collection as well.
"Keeps me coming back" by WILD is another great song by a great band who released their album "Goin' Back" on January 15th, the same day "Everything's Waiting For You" by Tom Speight was released. The title track, with Zac Barnett, was featured on Alex's September 2020 playlist.
"With You" by Harrison Storm is another great song by an artist whom brought us "Sea & Fire" which is one of the best indie songs of all time in my opinion.
I love the song "Beautiful Life" by Kyle Lionheart.
Riley Pearce is once again featured on Alex's playlists with the song "All My Love". My favourite songs by Riley Pearce is "Breathe & Release" and "Statue" which was featured late last year.
This playlist features many new and familiar names like Damien McFly, Flo Chase, and Joshua Radin whose song "Beautiful Day" is one song that needs to be on a movie or TV show. Joshua Radin also has a version of the song with Sheryl Crow that needs a listen to as well.
Many thanks to Alex Rainbird and Beth Patterson who are closing in on 1 million subscribers on their channel. It is awesome that they are about to hit this YouTube milestone. I have been a listener since January 2020 and Their monthly Indie/Pop/Folk and Indie/Rock/Alternative playlists were the soundtrack of my 2020.
Thanks to Alex and Beth, I know about artists like Dylan Dunlap, The Satellite Station, The Hollow Men, Mike Edel, Marc Scibilia, Simon Alexander, Riley Pearce, WILD, The Pressure Kids, Cattle & Cane, Tom Speight, Damien McFly, and many others that could fill half a page.
I wish Alex and Beth continued success on YouTube and Instagram where I follow them as well. I can't wait to see what new songs, and artists, are featured here in 2021. For now, though, enjoy this playlist and, in the words of The Satellite Station, "we're not young, but we're not old, just caught in the middle".
