What would you guys say is the current successor to Family Guy? It's hard to say because there doesn't seem to be any single adult sitcom that claims the spot. Maybe Rick and Morty. Though it might not be as obvious because it's not as clearly "ripped-off" from Family Guy/The Simpsons/The Flintstones.
Another moment where family Guy made fun of The Simpsons was when Peter got drunk at the Clam (again,) and claimed all his best moments happened there. These included Maggie's first word, Bart jumping a canyon on his skateboard, and Mr. Plow.
People forget that the first cartoon like this was Wait till your father gets home. although it was much more distasteful it was very similar.
The joke is that "The Simpsons Guy" I think was a way to rib the Simpsons BUT if u look at it… It actually was a plan that backfired as basically in a fture episode the Griffins said something about the fact they crossed over with the Simpsons and refused to do anymore cause the newspapers basically made backhanded statements that gave "more ink" to the Simpsons such as "Simpsons degrade themselves (because of them doing a crossover with Family Guy)"
Every FG character came out as more problematic than the Simpsons members… maybe Lois and Brian are exempt

My favorite one is probably Tracy Ullman family guy, you can tell they did it out of genuine love for the simpsons and it was just a hilarious gag all together

I would have said there is a gremlin on the plane wing just to be cut off with someone saying no that's a Griffin on the plane wing referencing Twilight Zone and Family Guy.
I prefer the Simpsons but I like Family Guy too. Would we dare to say that American Dad is sort of a rip off of both shows too or no? How about Bob's Burgers where do they fit in? I really loved the cross over episode. I remember thinking how cool it would be for that to happen and it did! I still don't know who's more stupid Homer or Peter?

Family guy hasn't been good in almost a decade. Simpson's hasn't been very good in the last years either. But it's got way more good episodes than what family guy has.

Life on earth will be horrific.

Both are pretty good. I have to go with the Simpsons for the simple reason that their writers have "predicted" so many events it is crazy!
