when this game gets released we have covid 2025.
Look so amazingly bad
Love the changes to fireball. Fingers crossed for some more changes soon and for the week long alpha then a month. Woot woot. Skadoosh.
Dont get me wrong but pvp looks so bad 😀
i dont mind teaming up to kill a very difficult world boss from time to time if it guarantees a useful gear to improve my pvp. everything i do in an mmorpg is to get stronger in pvp. fuck the story or pretty much anything else, those are for the care bears & there are many games already for them. i want 200-300 vs pvp/rvr whatever fuckin chaos u wanna call it. 24/7 pvp/pk area to kill each other till we get bored n back to leveling up for more stats. endless leveling for endless stats. endless gear progression for higher pvp dmg. make gear colors matter to distinguish stronger players. +0 gear should be dull gray, + 15 should be like glowing cyan or someshit, when u see these ppl u run to safety cause too fuckin strong. pk them with a group or when they're about to die from a mob. ya something like that
Thank you for making this content. The actual live stream is too long and boring to watch (no offence to the dev team.) so I really appreciate it and your opinions. I am looking forward to this game, Amazon's New World and Corepunk.
I am surprised by all these nitpicky comments, given how early it is in development it's friggin' amazing! Realistically this is going to be worked on for at least another 18 months, I think people have unrealistic expectations of a game so early in development
If this mmorpg fails, im buying VR headset and become a space junkie in Elite Dangerous
Okay character moves a lot better by the looks of it
In regards to the caravan system. Maybe the alignment system plays into it. Like defenders get a flat gold sum regardless but corrupted players (attackers) drop loot on death. That could be a way to add value to defending without causing inflation.
I'm purposely not looking at this game until there's a playable version out for the masses. Free preview event or open beta. Once one of those things happen that's when I'll know they're confident in their product and I'll start paying attention. This video is the most gameplay I've seen of this game throughout it's entire dev cycle and I really only listened to hear Kira's thoughts, not look at the actual gameplay and dev commentary.
After the release of Valheim I think that is my favorite kind of game now. I'm steering more away from the massively multiplayer to the small community based multiplayer where everyone knows each other. I currently rent a dedicated server and my friends and I are building a kingdom. It's become the only game I play now.
7:01 Kamehameha!
I think something that would help a lot with how awkward the movement looks to me, is if instead of having their whole torso turn when you pan the screen while legs run in the direction held, have the characters head turn where your panning the screen for the first say 45 degrees, then torso when turning from 45-130 degrees, then anything past that you have to change the direction your running. Just something where the head isn't always facing the same direction as the torso..
lmao, yeah steven sucks at pvp
The game honestly looks and feels like something from 2006 era. Can't anyone make an mmorpg with graphics at least similar to bdo? which is a 2014 game gez.
Aside From launch platform, what do you intent for launch Globally Or Regionally?
Yo WTF, no one fkn cares about the story in mmo's to be honest. If I have no questmarkers and have to read quests or looks for npc and items that is already a 50% downturn from this game. I want to level up quickly, get in touch with my skills and abilites, gear up and do pvp/pve. Btw movement of characters looks absolutely garbage just like that trashy Amazon MMO and if the PvPvE is not fast paced with qick animations and movement while doing skills, then the game is already bad imo. Just look at the fast paced skill activation and movement gameplay from games like "Elyon" or "Aion", that would be perfect.
i cant wait to play this game, i just hope and hope it wont be a failure, all mmos did is fail us with all their fake promises, maybe this one is different.
Not holding my breathe. Just hoping…last hope really.
sry but the comba tstill looks boring as hell :/
This looks so close to RIFT.
Its funny how the alpha movement and spell animations are already better than most released mmos
I kinda disagree on the combat element, while yes it still looks clunky and not polished the overall hybrid feel and flow of the combat feels pretty good to me, and what I'm most optimistic about is the fact that they changed the fireball animation so quickly after the massive player feedback from the previous combat they'd shown. Shows they're listening and willing to make a change which is phenomenal. I'm optimistic, we'll see how the NON-NDA Alpha in March holds up.
There is not going to be any voice over? Damn dont know if i could play this game then, having dyslexia. Thats going to make playing this game so mutch harder.
I hope for some good pvp game mode
I would love elemental biome / weather affinities. Though even lightning doing more damage to wet targets would make me happy, any elemental combos like how gw2 does it.
Backpedalling stronk af
So much back pedaling in this gameplay, rofl. There are a lot of systems in this game, it's a fine line to walk between not enough systems/rules equates to bandit spam, offline raiding, etc. and too many rules feels like forced RP. Maybe it's just because i've been following the game since Kickstarter, but I kinda feel like UE4 already looks a bit dated and the game hasn't even come out yet.
I genuinly look forward to your videos man. All your stuff is unbiased and to the point. I wish nothing but success
What stops testers from just going through a VPN and just breaking the NDA lol
the characters have always bugged me from the very beginning. the size of the characters and the world isn't consistent. Ashes reminds me of Dragon Age inquisition except the camera perspective and characters just aren't correct. a good example would be at 10:43, the characters size compared to the tomb grave is disproportionate. sometimes they look fine and other times they seem extremely small.
Amazed the game starting to shape up well ?
"glidy" is the term I use to describe the character mount and creature movement
You've said everything I wanted to say in this video. Everything that's shown is expected and we expect delays too. Props to Intrepid for at least fixing the fireball animation and keeping the potential players happy. I can't wait for the lifting of NDA and raid boss to be shown in Alpha. I really hope you get in there as one of the Alpha testers man!
I'm so excited for ashes of creation
Those damage texts gettin on my nerves for some reason… It's looks like ripped from Runes of Magic or something lol. Besides; overall, game looks great on many aspects.
I really hope they keep out as much "sandbox" as possible. Most Sandbox games fail, and I don't think people in general are ready for a full sandbox game. Even if they ripped off WoW with newer content I think most people would be happy. Something even more than that would be great, but WoW sadly is the marker for the genre if your game will survive these days. You do need content like Dungeons and Raids and good PVP. That's just how it is with the current state of MMO's IMO
People should reign in thier expectations. So many of yall in the comments are hailing this as the savior, youre all setting yourselves up here. This looks incredibly …… average. It looks like a game for sure
Fingers cross.
They should Increase Damage numbers.
Might I just point out – This is perhaps the best dev team I've ever seen. They're genuinely listening to feedback and trying their best to make this a successful game. I respect this company 100%.
Edit: I also love how they interact with their community.
I'm glad you noticed the weird behavior of Steven in the gameplay video. I've been noticing more and more that the guy doesn't really play like the veteran MMO player he claims to be. He then goes on to seemingly confirm that he's not the best at playing MMOs, even going as far as saying that he's more like what a "coach" is to a sports team. I feel like he's just someone that saw MMORPGs as a lucrative financial investment and figured he's toss money at one and direct people as to what he thinks would make them great. I've seen a lot of true veteran players, many of which I know personally, comment on combat and how mixing action and tab-targeting isn't a great idea. Steven would essentially just shoot the comment down saying that "he" thinks it'll work, though he has no experience in developing an MMO.
As someone that develops MMORPG technology for a living, and that has worked for many companies in the past designing MMO systems, I have to say that just playing MMORPGs isn't enough to qualify you for designing one. For example, in games like Tera Online, the game uses intranet technology to facilitate rapid data transfers for real-time combat and has to have uniquely large hitboxes and data recording to retroactively compensate for real-time hit-registration. Tab-targeting systems use a completely different architecture and trying to bounce between both of them is going to be a server infrastructure nightmare. I feel this game needs an experienced Game Director before things end up going sideways.
Mages look slow as tell, telegraph their casts, and no cc that i can see. Guess I'm going melee in this game.
looks like trash tbh
the progress is just insane cant wait to play this game
I hope this game makes it to the end
you can attack everyone in the map ? and to not attack you need to make a party? well im a pve person, this gonna be hard ahah
still there is the issue of invisible sheathed weapons
taking too long.
