this sounds like kenneth copeland singing
Yeah, let's set free the killers at Guantanamo so they can chop some more heads off. . Brilliant.
Without Keith and John It's not "The Who" as I knew them. The whole rythm-section changed so there's only a voice and a guitar which hold the sound of "The Who". Just sad. :-/
I have been a who fan for 30 years … but this song is horrible.. without the ox it don’t sound right …. and it’s not The Who ..Roger and Pete are not The Who .. The album sucks ..
I love it OMG
Lol
Classic song!!!
Me like.
Still sounds great after all these years! Love the look of the album!
A great song, so many bands and artists want to reinvent themselves. This is The Who and this could track could have been released in the 1980s.
Biden's headed to Guantanamo…He'll be guilty as charged
Long Live Rock
John and Keith would be proud of this cool album
1978: Who Are You
1981: You Better You Bet
1982: Eminence Front
2004: Real Good Lookin Boy (a favorite)
2019: multiple great songs
Never lost it, but the losses have alway weighed on them.
Thank you for bringing up Guantanamo, and for doing so in a beautiful song.
THE WHO guitarist Pete Townshend has said in a new interview with Rolling Stone that he doesn't miss the band's late drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle.
"It's not going to make WHO fans very happy, but thank God they're gone," he said. "Because they were fucking difficult to play with. They never, ever managed to create bands for themselves. I think my musical discipline, my musical efficiency as a rhythm player, held the band together."
Townshend said Entwistle's "bass sound was like a Messiaen organ," with "every note, every harmonic in the sky. When he passed away and I did the first few shows without him, with Pino [Palladino] on bass, he was playing without all that stuff … I said, 'Wow, I have a job.'"
The guitarist was equally brutal in his recollection of Moon, saying: "With Keith, my job was keeping time, because he didn't do that. So when he passed away, it was, like, 'Oh, I don't have to keep time anymore.'"
Townshend added: "Usually, I'm so unaffected by death. My mother, father, Keith Moon."
Need radio play.
As good as this is just imagine John,s baseline and imagine the loon on the drums .
Der Anfang von den Lied klingt wie Tiefsee von Karat GDR
This is great and the album is just so full of quality. The Graun said this song was 'ponderous'. It isn't. Just so much quality. And if you look at contemporary artists, who is producing anything this good now? Pete, for me, is one of the 20th C's greatest song writing talents.
The Worlds epic band
such a great song!
Found by chance : sounds good !
A year after release, this album still makes it to the turntable and always get flipped.
Reckon, some of you don’t understand the message. Guantanamo bay is a concentration camp where the USA hold people they think were terrorists. They have no evidence. They torture the inhabitants. They have never provided any evidence to prove any of the prisoners are guilty. No charges have ever been made.??
The next album will be a new opera rock as brilliant as Quadrophenia and Tommy!!
What would be epic is charging these poor sods or cutting them the fuck loose. Does anyone care or is it just a rock song? The blood is on our hands.
A bloody great song love it Roger
What kind of English do they sing? Understood just 'cigars'
Is much better giving Rog something bluesy to sing now his range is reduced. And letting the harmonies and multi layered production fill in the gaps
Mientras vuestra música suene en algún lugar seréis eternos
So I guess what your saying is that Guantanamo bay is becoming like a cancer (tumour),cut it out,get rid of!,
Hence the name BALL & CHAIN.
When ya light up Qbert, ya won’t feel the same again.
If only they could get Mathew Priest (Dodgy) as drummer. I'm afraid Zak leaves me a bit 'meh'.
Just to clarify, I'm an old die-hard fan from the beginning, but I'm just a bit underwhelmed by the new band. Pete's music and Roger's singing is still magic.
People are suffering…I'll say it again WHOOPS wrong lyrics. But the correct melody for it just about. Cooks County fits now better than 1982 eh?
A great Who song to be sure and I still love the new album, but I really have to wonder why this was chosen as the first single? Surely Hero Ground Zero or one of the others would have been a better choice. Very strange decision.
"Still waiting for the big cigars" I gotta feeling like it is a little reference to Johnny Cash – Folsom Prison Blues and the line "they probably drinking coffee and smoking big cigars"
New song????, I can believe it
The album is shit
Excoriating the Obama administration for breaking their promise to close Guantánamo. Good to see that Pete and Roger on the right side of the issue for a change.
Those murderous Jihadis deserve a song. Bout time!
Excellent !! j'adooorre….!!! bravo les Who!
What a masterpiece they have in this album
