I knew Will Sampson, "Sonny".—he was an amazing man!! It upset him greatly that Hollywood always hired white actors to play the parts of Indians, in movies. He felt there were too many talented, available, Native Americans for the roles.Thats why while shooting this film he shut down production by refusing to say his lines until real Indigenous people were hired to replace the white actors playing Indians. In 1983, Sonny founded "The Native American Registry For The Performing Arts", to insure agents and producers would be connected to real Native American actors. Sonny made it his life's mission to advocate for and improve the lives of all Indigenous people!!! ??

As a child lived on farm my mother native. We had heard of buffalo 15 one spring a calf was born white. Our lives were turned upside down and this was 70 yrs ago. Remember my mom's face it was amazing like she had just seen the coming. Still have pictures. These animals so holy.
